Tried this new Baltic Porter from Peekskill on tap at the brewery.
Dark, intense black color to this beer. A mocha-colored head forms. Strong sticky lacing.
Aroma contains nicely roasted malt, chocolate, and smoke.
Tastes include smooth roast, milk chocolate, coffee, campfire smoke, licorice, and brown sugar. Just a really nice set of flavors here. Excellent.
Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel, very drinkable.
A great new creation from these guys. It seems like they can do no wrong.

Appears midnight black on first glance, but it is actually quite clear. Garnet highlights along with walnut offer a nice contrast. Thick, khaki head with good lacing. It's a rather mellow smelling beer. I think the roasted malts quiet out any sweetness, but I do pick up some herbal accents to go along with some licorice. Feel is wonderfully softy, smooth and creamy. Clean and drinkable, the flavor trends toward roasted chocolate. Tart underflow of black currant along. Never really too sweet, but this characteristic grows as it warms. The smoke is there, but never tasted acting as a catalyst to other flavors. Licorice is mild, but pleasant. Finishes of faint fruit and coffee-like acidity.
