Brewer notes this is brewed with a "subtle orange essence," or maybe it's just orange peel. In any case, very mellow dark brew with an appealing distinctive taste.

Dark brown with a glint of copper. Modest head. Not overly carbonated on the tongue. Rich and spicy. Really a delicious mix of dark roast malt. "Harmonious" is the word that comes to mind. A tangy, winey taste along with the mellow malt. One of the best Porters I've had this year. Vastly drinkable.

On tap at the brewpub in Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia. Notes from May 31 visit. My single favorite beer place in Phila. It's probably pointless to review these one-off beers since they are constantly brewing small batches of everything conceivable.
