First had: on nitro at the brewpub

This beer wasn't listed as being on nitro, but there's no mistaking that rich creamy head and cascading action. Dark opaque black in color. Aroma was generally roasty with a bit of coffee. Nice dark roasty malts in the taste, coffee and a touch of cocoa, sweet and creamy mid-palate, finishing dry with a mild bitterness. The nitro definitely gave some body to this beer, which was on the fuller side of medium. Not thick or overblown in flavor, just a nice smooth, sessionable stout here.
