While pleasant, it wasn't a stand out. Just mainly a taste of malt and nothing else. Had a off aftertaste a little bit. Overall not bad though.

This is a red-brown beer that's transparent but for the darker color. The head is a small tan one that takes some time to fade then only keeps a light foam at the edges, while a little to moderate lacing spots the glass.
There's almost nothing to the nose. I get a bit of balanced maltiness, but it's hard to pull out. The flavor does develop, though. It shows the balance of toast and caramel one expects in a bock with a bit of leafy hops and some wood, dropping into a treacle/smoke finish as it lingers lightly.
The body is light-medium, and crisp, clean until the later part. It lightens out as it goes.

Overall not a bad beer. I agree with other comments as it was very malty. The waitress said it paired well with spinach artichoke dip, and she was right. Mine seemed to not have a lot of head when poured.

I like it in a growler better than just about any of their other beers. Tasty!
