Yuengling Black & Tan models a traditional English Half & Half. Introduced in 1986, Yuengling produced one of the first hand-crafted draft blends to lead this style of American brewing. Black & Tan combines 60% of our popular Dark Brewed Porter and 40% of our Premium Beer to create a brew that is rich and dark in color with hints of caramel and coffee from the dark roasted malts.

It's a solid dark beer at a decent price point. If I'm not feeling up to spending money on a higher end beer and I'm on the east coast I'll turn to this with no reservations. It's a solid beer that is better than decent.

Very Tasty ! I Love DARK BEERS ! I am finding this in a 6 Pack of Pints for around 7 to 8 $ in Georgia USA. Wish it was in 24oz Singles like the Yuengling Amber Lager is Everywhere (My Go to American Domestic) Modelo Negro is a a Good Comparison and another Favorite of mine. Other reviews mention and remind me it's much like a Cola without the Sugary Component.

12 oz bottle into a Becher glass.
L: Pours darkest brown with a dark mahogany base with a thin and slightly fizzy light tan head that fades fairly fast down to edge foam, low steady carbo bubbles, no lacing.
S: Light mineral aroma, raisins, a hint of dark fruits.
T: Lightly sweet toasted grains, plum, a hint of caramel, a suggestion of dark fruits, tastes are moderately muted and want to be rich.
F: Brisk, wet, slight cola-like medium-light bodied feel with a fast, gently drying finish.
O: A beer that drinks a lot like a soda pop or cola. IMHO not a porter but more so a black lager. It is porter blended with premium beer. Whatever it may be it is easy to drink and is light overall. It is okay in its style.

It’s ok…not bad, certainly not great, something about it reminds me of a flat Diet Coke.

I am going to call this beer what I think it actually is. It is a Porter beer brewed with a lager yeast. Best of both worlds. Smooth, not to heavy, easy drinking and inexpensive.

Better in a bottle. I like mine ice cold. Not a fan of dark beer that leaves mucous trail behind. This is as close to the black n tan you get at the bar. But better, since it is already mixed and cheap. As no longing after taste. Just smooth and down the hatch. It's very drinkable if your in the mood for a hint of coffee and caramel with no overpowering aromas. No lacing. Very small head. That goes quick. Be rough with it when pouring in a pint glass. After all it's 12 ounces so you need 4oz foam head to fill. It will vanish by the time you get it to the customer. Great in a bottle. Goes down faster in a pint glass. A little heavier than their lager and has more depth of taste. Why do people still drink the big named breweries. When at least in my case. This is considered local. If your not near PA. Grab some. Your in for a treat. You would expect it to be heavy and bloating. It is not. You can hit the lawn mowing and get an appetite for dinner still. Would go great with a burger or appetizers. Hot summer sun all day long well for that hit up a hoe. Hoegarden to be exact. There are so many small breweries out there. Flavors unknown. Skip the high priced swill and grab some of this

For rednecks of discerning taste. The only porter left in the US that a fits the original intent of the beer style. Cheap, no frill's, decent flavor, knock em back till the Ms calls you in. Base of yuengling porter mixed with their amber lager. If you can get the undilluted porter that is a real treat. Usually less that bud light per can. Fits in comfortably both at the tuesday night a couch fire or a wedding. Cheers!
