12 oz bottle, poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a pretty, deep, dark, brown/mahogany color with a quarter of a finger of white-colored head that quickly dissolved away into an extremely thin lacing of foam that partially covered the top of the beer.

Aroma: Malty up front, imparting notes of freshly toasted bread and whole wheat crackers, followed by some caramel and brown sugar, and lots of black pepper and a touch of vinegar. Smells a little like sauerbraten.

Taste: A lot like the aroma. Malty up front, followed by some good caramel and brown sugar-like sweetness, black pepper, and like the aroma, a touch of vinegar too. It not only smells like sauerbraten, but it tastes a little like sauerbraten. I like it.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and pretty creamy as there is very little carbonation. With an ABV of 5.3%, there is no alcohol on the palate.

Overall: This is a pretty good beer, and very unique too. It has nice malt and sweetness flavors blended well with some very interesting sauerbraten-like vinegary notes. I’ve never had a beer like it, and I’d certainly have it again.

12 oz bottle. Pours light brown with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head. Aroma is of sweet caramel malt, grassy hops and some cherries. Body is medium and slightly crisp. Taste is of caramel malt, herbal hops and some dark fruit, well balanced. Finish is long, semi-dry. Exceeded my expectations.
