Yuengling Premium is a pilsner-style brew, gold in color with a pale malt character that finishes crisp and clean. Premium blends both the two-row and six-row barley malt for thirst-quenching taste. A regional favorite, it delivers a well-balanced flavor with slight traces of hop aroma that is always refreshing.

One of my favorite macros. Head that dissipates rapidly and pours a slightly darker than usual color. Aroma is a little metallic but very subtle. The best quality in this beer is it's taste is more complex than your average macro. The downside to this often overlooked brew, is that it is only served in an odd number of states. (ohio is not one of them so we sometimes have to cruise over the border to Sharon PA to get our hands on some of it.)

I have lived in Pa for 38 years. Yuengling has always been available and marketed. My brother was always a big Yuengling guy and I guess had been a bit of a beer snob and though he was just being cheap. Well I took the tour of the Yuengling brewery and learned that Premium was an old recipe with limited production. A pilsner and not marketed outside Pa. Tried it and now its my #1 pilsner in my refrigerator. Did I mention it is 1/2 the cost of Sam Adams?

Poured from 12 oz can into pint glass. A thick foamy white head drops at a moderate pace with scant lacing. Color is golden straw with plenty of streaming carbonation. Aroma of bready malt, cracker, mild hops. Mouthfeel is light and crisp with a dry finish. Flavor is a nice balance of the sweet malt and corn with a hop bite. Overall: very good, less sweet than Yuengling Traditional. Glad this beer is finally distributing in my area!

Yuengling Premium has a thick, white head and a clear, bubbly, gold appearance, with some lacing. The aroma is of white bread crust. The flavor is of white bread crust, yeast, and toast. Yuengling Premium has a low-moderate bitterness and a medium body, with a crisp finish.

An amazing quality basic lager. Excellent malt meets, apple, meets corn, meets hop notes. Not fancy, bought in 24 pack cans. Reminds me of Schiltz Gusto. Simply put great tasting, basic beer. Nothing junk or offensive. Cheap, but excellent and no aftertaste which offends, nor bad headaches. The best lawnmower beer you can ask for. Paid $22/case. great value for good beer.

This is one of those beers that I enjoy having maybe a couple times a year. Nice at a pinic, or maybe if you're out hiking... it's that kind of beer.
Light yellow, short lasting head. Aroma of sweet malt and slight corn. No hops in the aroma.
Somewhat spritzy on the tongue, but in a refreshing way. Light malt flavor and some light bitterness in the aftertaste.
When compared to others in its class, like Pabst, Genesee, maybe Rolling Rock, this beer holds its own.

Gifted a half a dozen loose cans at a wedding reception in June 2022. I’m not a fan of this style, but this is actually a pretty decent lawnmower beer. It’s a little sweeter and breadier than a good lager, but I wouldn’t turn this one down. Not bad at all.

Found these at Jungle Jim's on sale for $10/24 case. I assumed it was a retro can of Yeungling lager. Came home and poured it into a glass and then googled to figure out that it is a pilsner style. Ok, here goes.

Nice clear straw in color. Pure white head that settles but remains a bit till the end.

Smells a little like canned corn, a bit of malt sweetness. Not much aroma but that is what I get.

Tiny bit of metal at first. A little bit of yeast. Pleasant session lager taste. Finished with a nice little bitterness to end the flavor.

A lot of people are slamming this beer, but for what it is, I really think it is quite nice. Compare this to a Budweiser or Coors Banquet, I'll take this every time. It is like a macro lager that actually reminds you of a German pilsner. I think that is what they were going for so mission accomplished

Clear deep gold, with one finger of white head.

Smell is semi-sweet grain, and a bit of biscuity malt. Fairly light presence, and somewhat difficult to discern what is there.

Taste is similar to aroma, plus an odd drying element at/near finish, that comes across as cardboard-ish at times, and artificial sweetener aftertase-ish at others. Slight fruity flavor (apple juice?), as it warms.

Feel is light-medium, smooth/slick initially, like apple juice, followed by moderate soft carbonation. It would be good if it stopped right there , but it continues on to a very drying finish, that leaves the tongue felling sanded-off, and semi-numb. As I get further into this, I'm warming to that effect, but still not sure I'm at the point of seeing this as a positive feature. ???

Overall, I'm glad to have tried it (the ol' monkey curiosity, eh?), but don't imagine having it again .
Would this be OK on a hot summer day , with no good options available (& I'd count regular Yuengling as a "good" option, btw. ;) ) ? Yes.
Is this ACTUALLY "Premium"? Hell no.

ps : It's actually better as it warms up to 55F-ish. Thought I'd not be able to finish it, but it's improved slightly as it warmed.

premium means better right?

well no

12 oz can into pint gas gave a solid head. Tastes like wheat and yeast. There is a faint taste of bread/banana like a diluted golden monkey
