This is my go-to beer when I'm watching sports on TV and munching on Middleswarth BBQ chips. Not the best beer in the world but a little better than Yuengling's lager and cheaper than any craft beer you can buy.

I picked this up because I moved to philly. That's the only reason. Better than some macros but I'd really only drink this with some food and toward the end of the night. Mostly sweet malt character and quite carbonated. But... a six pack is like $7 in a city where most sixers are $15+

Pottsville's finest.

The first time I tried this was over a hamburger and still think that's the best combination. Oh, it's not the greatest and certainly not the latest, but has been around long enough to earn it's place. Clean, crisp, amber color, light malt/hop combination with fuller flavor than expected.

Easy to find, easy to drink, worth exploring.

There are definitely worse options, but nothing impressive here. I remember all the hype when this made its way to Massachusetts. Could see it as refreshing on a hot day, but that is about it. Lots of better Lager options available.

I have enjoyed this beer a few times before but Yuengling isn't in distribution in my area so it has been a too rare occurrence that I get to sample one. The first thing that I noticed was a change in packaging to brown 12 ounce bottles (alright). Still has a twist off cap but this is definitely a step in the right direction.

The color is a light gold and the pour generates a nice head that quickly departs. Where this one really shines in its class is in the aroma and taste department. The smell is pleasant and the taste is full bodied for a beer with its IBU and ABV profile.

This is a perfect lager for a hot Summer day.

It was served on tap at the Yuengling Brewery.

Appearance: The body has a bright yellow color with very good clarity and lots of visible carbonation capped off with bright white head. The head is light and soapy and it quickly fads out leaving a wispy thin filmy layer.

Smell: The aroma has a light and cereal like malt base with a light floral and grassy hops in the background.

Taste / Palate: The flavor has a cereal and light grain like base malt note with a light floral and grassy hay like hops. It’s body is light and refreshing with average carbonation.

Probably my favorite standard lager, this one is found everywhere in my area including on tap in all the bars. It's relatively smooth and works well with any food at the ballpark. It's also cheaper than most competitors.

For longer than I have been leagally able to enjoy beer, people in my town refer to beer as all inclusively consisting of 1 of 2 options: "Lager or Premium" with both referring to Yuengling.

Cult-like brand loyalty and historical reference are the only things this beer has going for it. Slightly inferior to its "Lager" counterpart, Premium is the slightly shittier, sweeter version of the two.

A: Crystal clear, golden, straw, thick white head, good lacing

S: Adjunct grains, yeast, slight hops

T: Heavy on the adjunct grains, sweet, hop bitterness, very crisp, clean taste

M: Light, good carbonation.

O: Good beer. Way better than some I've had. Good representation of the style.

Yuengling Premium Beer brew by Yuengling Brewery, with an ABV of 4.40% This brew pours out a nice amber color with a nice white head. The smell is sweet with grains and malts. You pick up a hit of hops in the smell of this brew. Now for the taste it is sweet with grains and malts. Not bad but not great. Yuengling Premium Beer has a nice balance to it, there is nothing overpowering in this brew. The mouthfeel of Yuengling Premium Beer is nice, clean and smooth. There is nothing bad about this brew. I like how this brew goes down smooth. Overall I'm giving Yuengling Premium Beer a 4.25 out 5. This brew is a nice drinking brew. Nothing fancy but nothing cheap. I would buy this brew again. Thank you Yuengling Brewery

Looks like the average American adjunct. Smell is of yeast. Taste is of corn and yeast and some banana even. I did not like this very much. I prefer the regular lager to this.

I think this is a pretty goo beer for the particular 'style'. That is to say that it is a good easy drinking session beer. If at a party drinking many beers with many wings I think it is a good choice. Pleasant taste and aroma. Looks light in color and has a clean smooth taste to match. Poured with a decent head, but it did not last long. Very mild hop aroma. Some say it has a corn flavor?? I cannot say I detect that, but it is certainly light in flavor. If I were going to drink one beer each night, I would pick something more full bodied...but as a party brew, this is pretty good.

Just got back in from helping the wifey plant some flowers. Yeah yeah, I was holding a beer so keep your WHIPPED jokes to yourself!

Thanks to 302BeerGuy (Kevin) for this marvelous treat!

Appearance (3.5) : The cap came off with a good amount of snap from the carbonation. It starts off with 2 fingers of creamy looking head on top of a straw colored transparent body.

Aroma (3.25) : Rich toasted grains, very strong corn notes, malt, barley, a little hay with some sweet hop presence mixed in. A little bit of antiseptic at the tail end of the nose.

Taste (3.5) : It's got a rich malt heritage with barley, a hint of banana, and a bit of sweaty corn. A bit of bready hop finishes off the flavor profile with a semi-dry corn note.

Mouthfeel (3.25) : Carbonated, smooth, semi-dry.

Overall (3.37) : It's a competent lager with some traditional B/M/C characteristics. It's got some nice bready hop and banana that set it apart from the rest and actually reminds me a little of Natural Ice. I'm not secretly aching inside wishing they sold it here in my part of the country, but I'd try it again if offered. It is a capable and tasty adjunct lager.

This is my new go to beer. Since I live in southern NJ, I am in Yuengling Brewery's back yard. I used to drink Yuengling Lager, but after 3 or 4 it leaves me with a really bitter aftertaste. I had never thought to try this until a few weeks ago, I had a taste for a domestic beer. I bought a 6-pack, and I love it. Mind you, this is for casual drinking. this isn't going to blow you away like a microbrew or an IPA. This is just a good quality domestic session beer.

Appearance- 3.25, yellow, slight amber, light head
Smell- clean, sweet beer smell, no hops
taste- crisp, a tad sweet, no hops, light corn
mouthfeel- heavy carbonation, sweet finish, no after taste
overall- again, at 5.00 a 6 pack you can't go wrong. In my opinion, puts Miller, Bud, and Coors all to shame and saves you money in the process.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a 14 oz "pint" glass. Pours translucent straw with a fluffy white head. Smells of sweet cereal grain, a tad bit of corn, very sweet. Tastes of cereal grain, but much more flavorful than most adjuncts. Beer is light bodied, easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a slightly above average beer.

A: very pale, dandelion-gold liquid - crystal clear... fizzy, open foam that settles quickly into a thin cap, then slowly dissipates, breaking up

S: bubblegum, at first - that just about fades away, leaving a sweetish, corn bread aroma

T: initial hit of light-toasted lager malt, corn meal... the bubblegum soon emerges, as a highlight around the edges... low bitterness, more of a presence of light, syrupy sweetness... notable degree of tangerine-like citrus essence in the aftertaste...

M: light-medium-bodied, compact roundness... light, foamy wash... disappears moderately dry... drinks much like an import Helles

O: not bad... the fruity-ish, bubblegum/citrus peel elements could be toned down a touch, but they're not all that off-putting... actually, the level of dryness balances that out nicely... would prefer to have more of a grainy, bready taste here, but this has enough flavor not to be completely insipid

Appearance: Pours a clear, light golden body with a flush of white foam fed by steady streams of effervescence.

Smell: Conjoined nose of lightly malted barley and ground corn with meager, meager backing of hops.

Taste: Cereal malts, a spoonful of corn, a sip of clean spring water, a faint kiss of hops with little imparted bitterness. Faint hint of sweetness on the otherwise clean, crisp finish.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: Well, it's chuggable and cheap.

DATE TASTED: 9/4/2014... GLASSWARE: Ommegang 10-year pokal...OCCASION: the NFL begins again... APPEARANCE: white, fizzy, foamy head that fizzles quickly; clear golden yellow body--random lacing... AROMA: sharp doughy cracker malts and roasted toffee melt together with a rust copper aroma--oddly familiar but, under scrutiny, not so desirable... PALATE: fizzy and slightly oily/buttery; easily drinkable, as it no doubt is designed to be...TASTE: sweet, malty and metallic, as remembered...a distinct central PA lemongrass and hard water combination...OVERALL: familiar but significantly less frequented than the traditional lager, the premium carries less weight than the lager but has a little more taste than the light--but not enough to elicit comparison or deeper analysis...

I'm no connoisseur, but I enjoy fancy beers. Having said that, this is my "go-to" beer when all I can reach is the local gas station before kick-off. Gotta love the oldest brew in the states. Great for Saturday afternoons watching football.

Kinda sweet and malty with a hint of metallic hops on the nose. Maybe a hint of cooked corn and dirty dishwater as it warms. Flavor is right there too; sweet malt, metallic hops and cooked corn. Moderately low carbonation lends a pleasant, creamy mouthfeel. Somewhat lengthy mouth-coating impression keeps it from being a “clean” finish, even though it's mostly flavorless.

I like this beer regardless of what others say this beer taste better than Coors and Budweiser beers. The beer is used to drink as my regular beer and I still but six pack now again. A good drinking beer when you don't want a lager or a Ale and just want a plain good beer to drink.

Appearance: Cheap straw yellow, Fizzy white head that will be gone before the first sip, good carbonation, little or no lacing.

Smell: It's hard to smell anything, but corn in a can?

Taste: Bland, no hops or malt really.

Big Time disappointment. Yuengling makes it a point to call this premium beer, but it's average at best (and that's basing average on the BudMillerCoors standard crap).

First bottle into pint glass. Rest drank from the bottle.

Nice golden color. Bubbles racing to the top. White foamy head that left a bit of lacing on the glass.

Beer with some white wine like grape aroma faint whiff of alcohol. Not bad. Clean.

Mild malt with a sharp hop flavor in the finish. Kind of boozy at first then disappears after the first few.

Clean and crisp. Not syrupy. Finishes dry but not too much.

Good cheap beer that taste good. Will drink again.

Pours a straw-yellow color, very pale, nearly clear, slight clarity, a bit more haze than expected. Thin, white head lasts only for a few seconds, no lacing left behind. Aroma filled with crisp grains and some lightly toasted malt (but not much). Light floral essence, a bit metallic on the nose, too. Taste is very light and crisp, thin bodied with a dry malt character; grains and corns are abundant, but still too weak to give a big flavor. Apple skins and grape sweetness comes to mind with the crispiness of the brew; hop flavor is low, although there is a slight bitterness that can be detected; however, it comes and goes without much taste at all. Some slight sweetness and a dry, crisp grain flavor in the aftertaste.

Overall, not an awful beer - certainly more flavorful and tasty than Bud, Coors, etc., but I still would venture to believe that better choices can be made wherever this is available.

Poured very pale yellow, straw color with a white suddsy head. Clear with obvious carbonation showing. Not very aromatic, hints of malt, maybe corn, and grass. Beer also smells like its starting to skunk. Taste is slightly sweet up front with just a little bitterness on the finish. Thin mouthfeel, slightly dry, but very drinkable. An easy pick over other the macro-AALs out there since it actually has some flavor and some aroma.
