Stopped in while in town on business. BevMo reminds me of Total Wine on the east coast except smaller. Beer is located to the right as you come in with cold beer against the back wall. Nice selection ob American craft and European brew all clearly marked and broken down by brewery. Nice selection of Stone, Firestone Walker, Rogue, Lost Abbey etc. You will find something you want here expecially if your from the East Coast. I picked up some Firestone and Racer IPA.

I asked about Russian River but they do not carry it. No problem as I hit Bobby's in San Jose and grabbed some the day before. Worth a trip here for sure if you are in town but Bobby's is still the better choice for rarer brews.

The one person I did talk to was knowledgeable and made some suggestions. I did not see much else in Capitola so this is your stop. Enjoy.

When hitting Capitola for beer (better than anything to the south) I usually make a point to hit both here and 41st Ave. Liquor down the street. Bevmo has a more extensive selection of American stuff, with lots of six-packs and bombers. I've seen a few random small brewery's beers here that are not to be found elsewhere in the area, not that their beer is amazing though. The majority of beer is out of the cooler, so you might watch for older hoppy stuff. The import selection is pretty weak, even for a bevmo, Considering how much domestic selection they have. I would say that overall it is not quite as good as the bevmos up in the Bay Area or down in SoCal, though it's nice to have such an extensive american craft selection, even if seasonals and special releases are not prominent.

A rather small BevMo. Beer selection is limited to one aisle, albeit a long aisle. Pretty nice west coast selection with several smaller breweries that I've never heard of. Non-western breweries Allagash, Avery, Oskar Blues, DFH are all nicely represented. Belgian and German selections are typical at best. Good place to pick up a sixer of something new but the singles selection is average. 41st Ave Liquors down the street is smaller but more varied and with primarily single bottles. Overall it's a convenient place to have in a county that's nearly devoid of worthwhile liquor stores.

This Bevmo opened up back in September and has steadly increased their beer selection. Located on busy 41st Ave in Capitola (Santa Cruz)next to a McDonalds and a Longs. I call this a MiniMo-since it is smaller than the Milpitas location which is a small BevMO.

Beer-DFH 90 Minute, Midas Touch, Oskar Blues-Gordon, etc. Not much of an European selection-for a better Belgium selection head to 41st Ave Liquors. Also, not much in the way of Asian or Latin American beers. Visit for the US selection.

Service better here than other locations-prices about the same.
