Hazy orange with nice head and sticky lacing.
Nose of heavy hops, citrus and very sweet malts
Taste was big yet muddled. Thick resiny hops. Grapefruit, orange dominate. Heavy malts balance but not cleanly.
Seem to be just jum$bled together.

Poured into my ceramic mug club. This beer had a fluffy, marshmallow, billowing head that pushed the boundaries of my mug. At 86 IBU's this Imp. IPA has a floral profile aroma. Very smooth mouthfeel not to oily making it very easy to drink. Dominant flavors of soft pine, citrus and floral hops along with a balance malt presence. Smooth with a small acidic aftertaste. Warming, relaxing booze but not to harsh. A great offering.

Spinal Tap has a brownish orange body with a solid-looking off-white head. Retention and lacing are both fairly good.

The aroma has sharp notes of pine, resin and grapefruit. A little bit harsh in fact. There is a solid amount of caramel malt also.

Up front there is an aggressive amount of hops that focus on pine and resin with some grapefruit added in. High amounts of bitterness. The hops give a little bit of that powerful pine-sol flavor that I keep finding in IPAs and IIPAs, but it is not as powerful or off-putting as it could be. The malt profile is also pretty large, with lots of sweet caramel flavor. The finish has some more bitterness and a hint of warmth.

Fairly low carbonation with a body that is a little lighter than I would expect.

The stout and the wheatwine that I sampled on-tap at the brewery were better than this IIPA. Even with help, I didn't manage to finish this growler.
