The Bokrijks is a blonde and strong local beer of high fermentation of Brouwerij Sterkens. This blonde, with a nice white head, has a strong fruity aroma and a subtle, mild malty flavor. This refreshing beer has a slightly bitter aftertaste and is brewed with unique ingredients to create the best possible balance between bitter and sweet.

Just like a lot of the other reviewers the bottle is the thing that got me on this beer. What a cool container! With a nice swing stop with a tight fit too so this is worth hanging onto.
Onto the beer. I poured it into three separate goblets, each one having about as much sediment in it as the one before it, which is a lot. If sediment in your beer isn't your thing then you may want to avoid this one, but for those of us who can handle a little yeast than don't be afraid!
Nice golden orange color with a light, frothy, egg-white colored head.
On the nose, typical belgian yeast smell, candied apricots, orange peel, mild and mellow.
Very balanced taste, lightly hopped, kinda creamy, hints of vanilla, citrus fruit, apricots again.
This is a winner!

Deceivingly alcoholic for a mere 6.9%. But absolutely excellent with food. I'm curious... Is this a trade-off ? Let's see.
If an ale is sweetish and fruity and yeasty (good yeasty that stimulates the best flavors) and, generally, goes well with food (all of which Bokrijks Kruikenbier is), then isn't it hard to notice the alcohol until you stopped eating ?
Answer: yes. That is probably my lesson with Kruikenbier. It went so well with my dinner that this golden's flaw was not apparent until the meal was done. It should mask far better its mere 6.9%.
But on the plus side, the bottle has a replaceable cap and I will have the balance for lunch. This ale is a good lesson and a two-day value. Who can ask for more from beer ?

I always wanted to try this just because of the bottle and I'm glad I finally did. Great golden color with a very slight haze. Smells like pink cotton candy, sweet tarts, dried apricot. The taste is soft on the palate. I was expecting something more intense based on the smell but a great flavor for the style over all. Nice carbonation. Solid beer. I'll have another.

750 ml ceramic bottle into tulip glass, best before 7/10/2017. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big peach, apricot, lemon, pear, apple, honey, candi sugar, bread, light clove, light pepper, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big peach, apricot, lemon, pear, apple, white grape, honey, bread, candi sugar, light clove, light pepper, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of peach, apricot, lemon, pear, apple, white grape, honey, candi sugar, bread, light clove, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity of fruity/earthy yeast ester and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and lightly slick/crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome Belgian golden ale. All around great balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and pale malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A highly enjoyable offering.

A: Bright yellow-orange colour, slightly hazy nice head
S: Lemon and orange, hints of hops and coriander, smells refreshing
T: apricot and orange, slightest hint of spices and hops, a bit too sweet
M: undercarbonated, medium body, a bit sticky
O; does not deliver on the promise, but not a bad beer, drinks easily, not heavy

Poured from 750ml bottle into Chimay goblet.
A - Straw gold with some slight haze. A white laced foam.
S - Fruit, peach/apricot, lemon zest, sweet malt and candi sugar.
T - Phenols, alcohol, candied fruit, grapefruit-like hop bitterness. Mild sweetness and peachy ester notes.
M - A medium body with a slightly astringent finish.
The smell was fantastic, but the flavors come through in the wrong order. The alcohol and hop astringency really throws the balance.
