The St. Sebastiaan Dark is a dark, medium to heavy high fermented abbey beer that tastes both sweet and bitter on the tongue. This St. Sebastiaan has a strong, sweet aroma of caramel and malt and gives you a full taste in the mouth. It is re-fermented on the jug and on the bottle by the brewery. The result is a nice, clear beer with a wonderful aroma and, for those who love it, a nice touch of yeast at the bottom of the bottle.

Poured from a ceramic? bottle into a Chimay goblet, dark brown body with a 2-finger or so creamy head. The head slowly dissipated leaving lacing around the rim of the glass. The bottle has a neat flip-top as well as the normal bottle-top. I guess this would help keep it fresh if I wanted to drink some now and save the rest for later, but it's only a pint, so it's kinda wasted! If it was a liter bottle, then I could definitely see pouring a goblet and then saving the rest for a later time.
Very fruity alcoholic aroma, hints of berries and a subtle bit of spice. Raisins.
The taste is more of the same, nothing too varied from what I smelled... very clean aftertaste. I'm betting this one gets even better as it warms up even more... very little bitterness at any point in each sip.
A solid Belgian ale, but leaves a little to be desired.

Feb. 2014: 500 ml capped stoneware bottle, with swingtop. Bought at Alcampo Gran Canaria. ABV is 6.9%. A dark strong beer, brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot. Very dark brown colour, large and lasting off-white to beige head. Moderately malty and slightly spicy aroma, hints of caramel. Malty flavour, hints of caramel, mild spices and brown bread, but not as sweet as many other Belgians.

From Alcampo. In La Trappe chalice. Watching Silicon Valley 2x06-07. Pleasant to drink but missing a little punch. Everything is a bit more soft than desiderable: the feel, the tate and the aroma

Best before date was 10/15/2017, so this bottle must have been sitting a long time.
The aroma and taste were almost identical to Guinness Extra. I didn't detect any of the yeasty and dark fruit notes I normally get from Belgian Dark ales. Tastes good for sure but nothing special. At $10 a pint, wont be getting again.
