Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden.

A - Pours murky brown with a small half finger tall off white head, quickly dissipating down to nothing, leaving no lace at all on the sides of the glass.

S - Smells of plenty of lactic sourness, yogurt, a bit of piney hops, dash of dulled fruit, some musty funk and plenty of dark malt. Not as in your face hoppy as the afternoon delight but still pretty good.

T - Starts off with the strong lactic sourness slowly being joined by the dulled fruit, tart yogurt, light funk, small piney hop bite and the ever present dark malt. Finish is pretty tart with plenty of dryness, lingering long after the finish.

M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Tart, dry feel from start to finish. The dryness really does a number on the palate.

O - A nice rift on Afternoon Delight. The base flavors hold up pretty well to the dark malt but the dryness is a bit over the top. Definitely worth a shot if you enjoyed the original version.

Pours dark like a porter. Exhibits many of the same characteristics. Strong sour edge that is a punch in the mouth and does not show any subtleties at all. At first it was a bit much but I suppose I got used to it and found it very nice. For me, I don't need a load of complexities in my sours (which frankly, Pizza Boy doesn't quite seem able to deliver). Just give me the funk and we'll call it a day.
