Poured into a teku

Pour - Nice golden orange pour on the mango sour. Slight one finger head with the pour

Smell - Get the mango up front along with some additional citrus fruit. Funk comes through on the nose as well.

Taste - Drinks like a sour mango mimosa. Meaning it is delicious and keeps you coming back glass after glass. With the hot weather in Texas right now this hit the spot between the mango, citurs, booze, and sour.

Mouthfeel - Mango coats the mouth and leaves you wanting more. Decent mouthfeel almost like an orange juice begging you back for more.

Overall - Pizza Boy / Al's is on the right track with their sours and stouts. Nothing more needs to be said.

L-Bright orange yellowish. Brightens up your day!

S- faint hint of tropical fruit

T- the sweet mango balances the sour beer perfectly. Not very oaky at all.

F- interesting mouthfeel similar to the funkers it's different but I like it. Coats the whole mouth. Starting to appreciate this feel more and more with pizza boy sours. Like your having a sour nectar.

Overall - fat and juicy. In the end taste wins and this beer rocks!!

Appearance: Pours out more like juice than beer; bright orange, hazy and filled with floaties; not much head or lacing

Smell: Mango, funk and oak

Taste: Funky and tart, up front, with tropical fruit and mango flavors building; more funk and oak tones develop, after the swallow, with lingering tartness in the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with low carbonation

Overall: The mouthfeel is a bit odd but the flavors are intriguing

Thanks, justanewby, for the opportunity

A - Pours a hazy medium yellow color with hardly any lacing ring at all.

S - Tart funk to the max with mango and melons.

T - Tart and sour mango and a lot of funk.

M - Medium body with little to no carbonation and coats the mouth with enough intense tartness to make the mouth water.

O - A nice sour if you were lucky enough to snag a bottle.

Perfect combination of sweet mango and sour base beer. Great color, nose and feel. Mango is really prominent. Not overly sour for the uninitiated to the style. Perfect stepping in point.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Pours bright orange. Murky and chunks of mango pour into the glass. Funky oakiness. A bit of cheese. Strong mango and acidity. Taste is very strong mango and oak. Not that sour, thankfully. Acetic lingering sourness, though. Low carbonation. A little seltzery and minerally.

I believe this and the apple funker were the last 2 things I ever purchased from this place. Finally got around to drinking this one.

750ml into a snifter pours like a pile of puke. It is chunky as hell with an orange merange head complete with pureed mangos. No lacing effect because as it fades chunks of pulp stick to the glass.

The aroma is lactic tart with fruit and a backing of solvent alcohol. It tastes tart and pulpy with a little bit of oak and lemony lacto with grassy mango.

It is full bodied with modest carbonation. Its not terrible but easily takes the cake as the most fruit sediment I have ever seen in a bottle.

Bottle pour at Al's of Hampden. Pours very murky yellow with a very light film for head, quickly dissipating down to nothing at all, leaving pieces of mango pulp all over the sides of the glass. As soon as you pop the cork it stirs up the sediment so be prepared.

Smells of strong mango pulp, decent amount of brett funk, some wet basement must, sweetness from the fruit, woody oak and some bready pale malt. Taste is quite sour initially with a nice hit of mango sweetness coming through afterwards followed by the funky must and chewy pale malt. The oak comes on strong at the end, combining with the sourness, to leave the palate quite dry long after the finish.

Overall a solid mango sour. The mango is stronger in the taste than the nose but that isn't a surprise with all the pump still remaining. I would still prefer a few of the other sours to it but I definitely wouldn't turn down the chance to try it.
