16 oz can

Pours clear golden, firm white head slowly dissipates to a lacing.

Aroma of citrus, cereal makts, and grassy hops.

Flavor is of cereal malts, light citrus, some grassy notes, and a dry hop undertone.

Medium body, tingly carbonation on the tongue.

Decent dry ale, I like the flavor of this one. Good clean ale, drinks easy. Almost a good session candidate but a bit strong for that maybe.

Served from the 64 ounce growler in a 16 ounce snifter shaped goblet.

Look and coloring is pretty standard fare for an APA. Copper orange with minimalist head and fairly clear. No chill haze or cloudy texture that most Pizzaboy ales tend to have. This looks more like a larger scale commercial release with it's clarity and clean taste. Along the lines of Stone, Ballast Point, Founder's.

Nose is sweet bready malts up front and some floral pine hops behind it. Kind of cool to have a malt forward Pale Ale.

Taste is really well put together here. Nothing amazing, and I think the finish isn't quite dry enough as this is a fairly sugary ale, but it is still pretty good nonetheless. The most omnipresent taste is the hops, most likely Simcoe up front with a nice bite, which are then padded by that strong bready malt backbone. Balance here isn't quite what they were going for, but the flavors meld pretty well nonetheless.

Mouthfeel is good, nothing spectacular like you would get from a Tired Hands ale, but it's adequate for the flavor profile and recipe. Head retention is clean and vibrant.

Good, but not great. I would say that Pizza Chaser is a lot better than mostly anything you are going to find bottled at your local Giant or Weis markets, but it's really nothing special, at least in terms of what Pizzaboy normally produces. Solid overall though.

On tap at The Beer Belly in Albany, NY.

This one pours a slightly hazed orange, with a small head, and a good amount of lacing.

Smells pretty floral, with a grapefruit and orange hop aroma, and just a little bit of caramel malt.

This has a nice pine bitterness, with a very flowery taste, and grapefruit rind, with some orange, and just a hint of caramel malt. It's simple and no frills, but I enjoy it.

This is light bodied, with a very crisp mouthfeel.

A nice little beer- nothing crazy, or particularly new, but well done nonetheless.
