Poured this into a clear glass and the color of it was a deep black. A weak tan color of head that didn't last very long.
The aroma is of coffee, vanilla, malt and bourbon. The flavor is very much that of coffee, vanilla, and of course the bourbon. Definitely a decent coffee and bourbon stout. I'd recommend it to anyone else who may like this type of beer.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into a snifter. The beer is another version of the imperial stout from Pizza Boy.
The beer pours jet black in color with a densely packed tan head of 1 cm that fades to a sturdy edge layer and wispy island. The aroma is coffee grounds and roasted malt with a good dose of bourbon mixed into the nose. I also get some dark chocolate and a little brown sugar. No hops here and the booze is pretty hidden even with a good hit of bourbon.
First sip reveals a smooth textured slightly thick body with mild carbonation. The foam leaves some tight lattice on my glass after each sip.
The flavor is pretty much as the nose advertises with dark chocolate and coffee grounds mixing together. This rolls to a hefty dose of bourbon and some molasses flavor on the finish. Not surprisingly I dont get any hops at this point either. I do get a little warming booze after each swallow, but generally the beer is a pretty easy drinker for 9.5%. I like this variant, but the pumpkin is still my surprising favorite. Gotta try 'em all!

Poured black with a dark brown head that very quickly dissipated. Smell was sweet with good amount of coffee. Taste is coffee up front with bourbon and some burnt sugar. A little thinner than expected but overall very nice

This one pours a pretty dark black, with a dark brown foamy head, about one inch, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like creamy and roasty coffee, vanilla, oak, bourbon, chocolate syrup, and raisins.
The regular Sunny Side Up is probably better, as it's a fantastic coffee expression, and this barrel-aged version is a more balanced effort with less of an emphasis on coffee. If that's up your alley, though- this will probably be better for you. There's a good amount of dark fruit, silky and slightly bitter bourbon, vanilla cream, and sweet chocolate. It's quite complex.
The body on this isn't great- it's a bit thin, and insubstantial- you want this sort of thing to be massive, and it's not. It is very drinkable, though.
If the body was beefed up, this would be amazing. As it is now, it's just great.

Looks awesome - pitch black, thick, with nice creamy lacing. Smells faintly of bourbon and strongly of coffee. Tastes even more strongly of coffee. Very bitter, almost sour. Not well balanced at all. It has some nice flavors of dark malt/chocolate/vanilla/bourbon, but they're completely overwhelmed by the coffee.

Pretty solid coffee stout. Very very minimal bourbon barrel flavor here, if it hadnt been on the can i wouldnt have known, and that is extremly dissapointing to me. There is a bit of astringency, and the body is medium at best. So overall nice and drinkable, but wouldnt see out by any means

16oz pounder can poured into an East End Brewing snifter:
Look: Pours an amazing jet black color with nice mocha tan head! Some lacing present with some retention!
Smell: Sweet chocolate, faint coffee, and then bourbon! Digging the aroma on this brew!
Taste: More of the same on the taste as the nose! Not one thing overpowers the other in this brew as this is very well balanced!
Feel: Medium bodied!
Overall: Great bourbon barrel aged coffee stout from Pizza Boy! Also love the base beer that this is born from! Glad I was able to score a can of this beer and I would definitely revisit this one next time its brewed!

Poured from a one pint can that was born on 4/17.
A - Pitch black pour with a very thick, effervescent dark toffee colored head.
S - Delicate bourbon, light smokey/char, dark chocolate sweetness, cocoa powder and some vanilla.
T - Coffee, char, oak, cocoa, and unrefined bourbon astringency.
M - Thin medium body,
O - Expected more from this beer, not worth the price tag. :o(

32oz crowler poured ~10oz into a smifter.
L - Dark cocoa brown, creamy mocha head
S - not quite old coffee but certainly not fresh coffee. Strong following of sweet chocolate, and then faint bourbon.
T - chocolate, mocha, coffee, cream. Super rich and flavorful, not over the top or abusive of any one flavor, simply well rounded - think founders breakfast stout.
F - have I ever given a beer a 5 for feel? Idk. I'm not sure if it's the temperature, the crowler pour to a snifter, or the beer itself... but this is the softest, creamiest stout (non nitro) I've ever had.
Overall - I wish it had more bourbon, vanilla, and oakey characteristics on the taste but even lacking there I give it a 4.5 overall for its perfect mouthfeel.

Pours with some transparency, but is quite dark in the glass. Doesn't appear terribly thick, but it;'s still very dark with some dark tan head. Smell is very fresh coffee. Sorta bitter. Like smelling a freshly used coffee filter with the grounds still in it. Tastes initially of roasted coffee, nice barrel and vanilla notes. However, the aftertaste is reminiscent of cola. It's sweet, and rather artificial. Mouthfeel is nice and smooth, but maybe a touch thin.
