A - Black pour with nice dense, toffee colored, creamy lacing retention on top.
S - Nose is huge with big chocolate, coffee grind, and vanilla aroma. (Even when the beer is cold when temps should normally be more muted.)
T - Coffee roast dominates top to bottom throughout with the addition of chocolate and vanilla riding just below the surface for a really nice blend. Finishes balanced with a slight nod to chocolate roast bitterness.
M - Thick and syrup-like mouthfeel that's silky smooth, a little dry on the back of the palate, and a wet finish.
O - This is a really solid under the radar Imperial Stout that is well worth it. Recommended. At the time of my review tonight there are five ratings so far with four from PA (to be expected since this is a local PA brewer) - however, the first review was two years ago from a BA'r from Mass. Now that's embarrassing ... c'mon fellow PA BA'rs!!
