Remember how awesome founders breakfast stout was the first time you had it? This beer is equateable but better on every level. Frothier head, fresher coffee, the taste? Like you're drinking an artisanial coffee at its columbiana source. The mouthfeel is as creamy as a beer twice it's size and it's not little.

This should be on the top 250, and omewhere in the middle of it at least. This is coming from a guy in Pittsburgh with no homerism for pizza boy, it's simply that good.

Sampling a cellar temp can poured into a snifter. The beer was picked up at the brewery on a recent visit while visiting PA.
the beer pours an ultra dark brown color with no light passing through my glass. There is only the briefest hit of tan creamy head that fades immediately after the pour to nothing. This appears to be a rich dark beer as expected from the can.
A rich roasty aroma is evident from the pour into my glass. I also get some dark chocolate and a healthy dose of coffee as well. Not an hint here of how big the booze is on this one.
FIrst sip reveals a large body with very smooth texture and mild yet tingly carbonation. The beer drinks very easy on the physical side of things.
Flavor is roasty malt and coffee right off the bat. I get a bit of milk chocolate sweetness and then this rolls back to slightly bitter coffee notes. I dont find any hint of hops anywhere on this brew and also the alcohol is very well hidden, which makes this a bit of a dangerous beer.
Very well crafted and nicely intertwined malt and coffee notes make this a very enjoyable beer to drink. Im surprised by how easy it is to drink and enjoy emptying my glass fairly quickly for a bigger beer.

Alright, we have a new Leah favorite! From the first taste she was hooked. I liked it, but I'm not into the imperials much. Great, job though, pizza boy!

Appearance: Pours fudge brown with a thick tan head bubbling up; decent retention and a draping of lace

Smell: Milk chocolate and coffee, with moderate roast; somewhat sweet in tone

Taste: Powerful coffee tones meld with the milk chocolate; modest earthy hop, through the middle, with a moderate roast character through the finish; sweetened coffee lingers in the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation; hides the alcohol well

Overall: I have had this bottle in the back of my fridge for about 18 months and am impressed by the brightness of the coffee flavors after all this time; recommended

Thanks, justanewby, for the opportunity

Pours an attractive near black with a two inch mochs head that leaves behind a little lace, poured near room temperature canned on 4/3/17.

Smell is roasty coffee beans, vanilla, dark chocolate, molasses, and a little bourbon.

Taste follows very roasty expresso, vanilla, deep dark chocolate, molasses, and just a little bourbon.

Mouthfeel is almost medium, moderate amount of life, definitely a bit dry, and drinks easy enough at its ABV.

Overall this is a very nice beer, a little thinner than I prefer, but really a all around good brew. Thanks @jzeilinger for this one.

Fantastic beer. Lots of coffee in both the nose and in the taste, like an iced coffee or something. Virtually no heat despite the relatively high ABV, and the finish is a very sophisticated dark chocolate. Fairly light for the style, and dangerously drinkable. Just great all the way around!

Appears almost black. Cannot see through. Not much Head to speak of but solid ring of foam around the edge that lingers.

Smell is simply delicious. Coffee, chocolate, and vanilla. Taste is similar with more emphasis on roasted qualities. As it warms, a slight whiskey-like note comes out in both taste and smell. Feel is creamy but not super heavy. Overall...delicious. Would definitely drink again.

Growler into pint glass. Pours an oily, viscous, opaque black with a fine-bubbled tan head that dissipates quickly. Initial impression is coffee (strong but not really bitter) followed by chocolate (darkish but again not really bitter). Mouthfeel is lighter than I would've guessed from the pour. Carbonation is light. Alcohol is extremely well hidden. Finish is smooth and dry, with just a touch of alcohol warming following. And speaking of warming, let it sit for a bit. Brings out the flavors even more.
My first Pizza Boy beer - but certainly not my last!
