Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden.

A - Pours clear amber orange with a creamy one finger tall white head leaving sticky rings of lace down most of the glass.

S - Smells of caramel malt, toffee, light hop bitterness and a touch of fruity eaters. Not too much going on in the nose, gets a little better as it sits in the glass.

T - Starts off with some light hop bitterness quickly giving way to some sweet caramel malt and a touch of crusty bread. Finish is sweet with a bit of bitterness, not lingering on the palate for very long after the finish.

M - Medium-Light body with moderate carbonation. I like the smooth feel but it is a little plain for my tastes.

O - This one is rather plain compared to all of the other Pizza Boy offerings. It tastes just like a plain Amber Ale should, which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you want out of it. If you are looking for a simpler Pizza Boy beer this may be for you.

Draft offering at the source pours a clear copper color with a white cap that slowly fades leaving a full wall of lace sticking to the glass. A light swirl revives about a finger back to the surface.

The aromatics include citrus and herbal hops with a toasty to bready grain base. The nose is pretty much flawless for the style with a bit o an exaggeration of the hops providing a memorable twist to a classic style.

The first impression while sipping this brew is wowing for what you might expect based on your typical amber ale. Plenty of fruity hop flavor without much bitterness. Some soft alcohol character blends into an essence of almost bubblegum with toasty to bready sweet grain.

This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It is surprisingly complex and overall outstanding for an amber ale. I could crush this all day long. I enjoy Pizza Boy's unique creations but the ability to also create some plain, classic styles is needed. This is exceptional and I will have more of this in the near future.
