On tap at Al’s. Pours a deep burgundy with a thin off-white head. This retains with some light ringing and spotty foamy lacing left back. Smells sour up front, giving way to a rich mix of cherries and sugars. The taste is more tart and crisp with the cherry flavor, being perfectly balanced by sugary sweetness coming in off the sides. Finishes dry and oaky. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and quite lively on the tongue, while a tannic slickness helps keep this overall smooth. This is a really nice take on a Flanders Red. Sour and funky in the nose with more of a crisp and tart feel on the palate, this was pretty darn drinkable for the style. Well done.

Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden. Pretty sure there was only a keg or two of this so it's most likely gone by now.

A - Pours murky brownish red with a small half finger tall white head, dissipating down to next to nothing, leaving little to no lace down the glass. Looks murky as all get out and goes dead flat in a matter of minutes.

S - Smells of juicy tart cherries, wet oak, light musty funk, dark fruits and a bit of sweetness. All of the aromas you would expect are there.

T - Starts off with some mild lactic sourness and some tart cherries slowly giving way to hints of the brown ale core and some dry oak. Finish is tart with some lingering dryness, clinging to the palate long after the finish.

M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Slick, sour feel from start to finish. The carb needs to be turned up on this one a touch and I think it would be excellent.

O - A very nice Flanders Red, it kinda reminds me of supplication honestly. I would usually say that If you like sours you should definitely give this one a try but by the time you read this it will be gone. I am glad I got to try it while it lasted.
