Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden.

A - Pours hazy amber with a small half finger tall white head, dissipating down to a very light film, leaving spotty trails of lace down the glass.

S - Smells of grassy hops, earthy chili pepper spice from the chipotles and a bit of caramel malt sweetness. The hops do their best to hold back the peppers but I can already tell this is going to be a chore to finish.

T - Starts off with a quick dose of caramel malt sweetness and a bit of grassy hop bitterness quickly being washed away by the strong earthy spice from the chipotle peppers. The spice is mild initially but once it warms up it is pretty much out of control. Finish is all spice, lingering on the palate long after the finish.

M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Smooth feel initially with a ton of spice on the back end making it hard to finish.

O - While I am a fan of the base beer this version was a swing and a miss for me. It has all of the described flavors but the chiles get pretty out of control once it warms up, making this one almost undrinkable. I ended up chugging the last half of my glass just so I could get another beer. They should have just left this one alone.
