The food was great, especially the desserts. I remember there being a solid beer selection, but considering the name of the place, I was a bit disappointed.

Can't say I would have added this place based solely on its beer selection but seeing how it's already on BA and I have been here, I'll review.

First the beer: Cakes and Ale has around 11 bottles and 6 taps. A small selection, however, it is well thought out. The available beers are a variety of styles and breweries (a good use of available space). St. Bernardus, Unibroue, Orval, and North Coast are just a few one can find here.

The Food: This is the draw. Organic and local, done very, very well. Excellent food and worth the cost. I highly recommend treating yourself to a meal here and having a decent beer to go with it. It's a small venue so reservations would be a smart move.
