Across from the bus station and on 4th street in downtown Reno. You would be harder pressed to find a more depressing place in life than what is going on in this area, but at least the place is a little cooler on the inside and the patio. Big patio, really cool, space for music, lots of picnic tables, outdoor bar with only shitty stuff. Inside, very old, they put the tv for sports in a midway room that is unique in terms of its layout/floorplan, lots of the counterculture red lighting. Weird mix of people, not many into beer, usual douchey young but not in college crowd you get in downtown Reno. Ball park folks trail in. Some think the 99 beers club they have is something to aim for, but its pretty much just the 99 beers you see on shelves, nothing too exotic save for the occasional Ruination.

Decent list of beers inside. Reflects pretty much what is on the shelves at the liquor stores and supermarkets in town.

Service is decent, quick enough, prices, given that the overheard at this place should be like $100 a month, seems a little high. $11 for 2 beers last time, I think a festina peche and stone ipa.

A decent place. St. James has better beer, but this place at least doesn't smell like shit inside (outside, another story).

Be careful not to get mugged on your way in or out.

This is my favorite place in Reno. Like the other reviewer said, the outside is pretty sketchy to look at but once you get inside it is a very laid back, very hipster-style bar. It has never been overly crowded and both the employees and the patrons are very friendly. Sometimes the bartenders don't give you glasses to pour your beers into (most of what they have is bottled) but if you ask for a glass then they are happy to oblige.

Their beer selection is pretty awesome. Over 70 different beers on hand and nearly all of them have A ratings here on BA.

This is a great place to just hang out after school or work to grab a beer on your mug club list and just relax. You can bet to see me there during the Stanley Cup.

The Lincoln Lounge is a relative newcomer to Reno, having opened in March 2008. They describe it as "speakeasy style", and I think that fits. From the outside, it looks like an abandoned bar with only a sign that says "BAR". The windows are one way, and it is dimly lit inside, so it always looks dark from the outside. The back patio lights are the main indication that it is open. Upon entry, there is a long bar along the far wall, and both sides of the door have seating areas with vintage replica couches and chairs. The back room has standard tables and stools and a long shuffleboard that is unfortunately not exactly level. The back patio has picnic tables and is the only place where smoking is allowed. The bar tenders are pretty friendly, especially early in the night when the place is quiet. They have a really good beer selection from yellow American lagers to microbrews and imports, totaling around 70 choices with a few interesting selections and local beers. They have a mug club where you get a mug on the wall and a free t-shirt upon trying each beer. This is a great place to hang out with a variable clientele from students to locals to professors from UNR. Definitely worth a stop and I think the best atmosphere / beer selections in town.
