Style: Tripel

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 8.50%

Availability: Spring

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our first Spring, we brought you a magical tree full of waving babies… and the Baby Tree has stuck around, we’re happy to say. So for our second Spring, and each Spring since, we’ve made a pale gold, hoppy triple called Fluffy White Rabbits. This is a fun and Springy beer: possibly even our fun-est beer. In Yorkshire, they say “White Rabbits” on the first of the month for luck, and here’s to a lovely warm Springtime for all of us!

The beer is 8.5% abv, with Saaz, Styrian Goldings and Strisselspalt hops added aplenty. Fluffy mouthfeel: yes, really! There’s a faint sweetness with tropical fruit undertones. Fluffy White Rabbits is a very “Pretty Things” take on a Triple.

We use what we think are the finest ingredients around: malts from Weyermann (Germany) and Fawcett (Yorkshire) in this beer.

It’s a fun one, we hope you enjoy it!

Dann has been working on the poem for this beer since springtime of 2009. One day, maybe you’ll come back and find it here. One day.

Pours a clear golden color with a two finger head that looked awesome in the glass. The head settles to a thin cap. Quite a bit of lacing as well as rings are left down the glass.

Not your typical tripel aroma thanks to the Amarillo hops and its citrus qualities. I also get yeast esters that gives the beer a vinous quality. Some spice, hay, and cake batter make up the rest of the aroma.

More bitter tasting than most tripels. Still an underlying sweetness that helps balance the beer. Grassy and floral with an angel food cake flavor. Yeast esters are present but take a backseat to the hops. Slight warmth in the finish

Medium body with nice carbonation. Enjoyable texture as always from Pretty Things.

Another very well done beers from one of my favorite American brewers doing Belgian styles. This beer maintains the spirit of Belgium while giving it a definate American twist.

Appearance is golden to yellow in the glass, but has good head and laces nicely on the glass. Head retention is good too, and the mouthfeel is somewhat creamy. The aroma is grassy and citrus - most likely lemon. Taste is great - but I think this is somewhat misclassified as it comes off as a strong Saison - lots of nice spice and a good citrus presence.

hazy straw yellow pour with visible carbonation, 2 fingers of fluffy white head.
smells of orange, bread, lemongrass, peppers.

tastes and drinks much like a saison. bready (yeasty), citrusy (lemon), with a slight peppery bite. sweet backbone to even things out.

medium body, nicely carbonated, rich and creamy yet very refreshing.

this is a fantastic beer - it's hard to be let down by pretty things honestly.

A rich, golden brew with a fine white foamy cap. Tangy and spritzy on the tongue. Quite well endowed with the meaty "umame" flavor of the Japanese. Spicy, salty, fruity all in one. Apricots and honey to give it some sweet and tangy taste.

All the friendly mellow flavors are nicely sharpened by the bitterish yearty tang. The bitterness rises up in the aftertaste, but each sip renews the sweet, malty honeymoon.

This is a good example of the Pretty Things style, which I find totally appealing, which is off-beat but highly drinkable. From the 22 oz bottle bought at Krisp in downtown San Diego.

Pretty things fluffy white rabbits

22 oz bottle, pours a slightly hazy gold color. Fizzy white head disappears quickly, leaving a very thin ring.

Ripe pears and some apples in the nose. Great fruity notes, with just a medicinal touch. A slight yeasty and earthy note in the background.

Cereal malt feel up front, just a bit of sweetness. Not as much fruit as the nose indicated. Earthy bitterness with a dry finish. Bitterness lingers.

Lighter body, but carbonation doesn't lighten things up very much. Some warmth from alcohol. Not bad. I expected a bit more complexity as the nose indicated.

A 22 oz. bottle

Pours a really bright gold slightly hazy. Good white head and lacing.

Smell is grainy, yeasty and fruity.

Taste is a nice departure from all the IPA's I have been drinking. This one has lots of Belgian hops which I like better right now. Good citrus rind flavor with fruits and spice. A big dose of orange.

Mouth feel is carbonated nicely and alcohol is hidden. This is a well done Tripel. Top two from the US in my opinion. .
