Mission Wine & Spirits is located north of the 210 Freeway in Pasadena, near the corner of Washington and Allen. It has a nice exterior when compared to a lot of bottle shops I visited. They have parking along the side, but there's also ample street parking.

As the store name suggests they focus and specialize in wine and spirits. The craft beers I saw were refrigerated. The selection was solid. A nice place to grab some craft beers if in the area.

Upscale liquor store in a somewhat sketchy area of Pasadena. They don't have the biggest beer selection, but everything is refrigerated and they have a really solid selection of stuff to choose from. Service has been pretty good, but you need to seek out assistance yourself.

From what I can gather off the internets, this is apparently the only independent (i.e., non-BevMo, non-Whole Foods) bottle shop in Pasadena. It has an excellent selection of spirits and a pretty good selection of wine.

That being said, the beer selection is pretty average. You won't find anything but the pretty standard SoCal and National releases, with a few exceptions. There are a few Bruery and Firestone Walker limited releases, as well as the standard AleSmith, BP, Hangar 24, etc., the last time I went. But there does not seem to be any Russian River or Alpine.

On the plus side, though, almost all of their beer is refrigerated. There's just not a ton of it.

This place was one of my favorite stops while in Pasadena. They had cases upon cases near the beer coolers of stuff I certainly couldnt get in Wisco, but also stuff I rarely saw here... Plenty of Victory at Sea, Jubel 2010, and Double Bastard not to mention more than enough Temptation and Supplication to satisfy my sour fix. Pretty nice selection and some nice help getting me some boxes and wine shippers to send some of my stuff home (sent it myself). A little pricey, but glad to have found what I did there.

This bottle shop is the only independent shop I've found in Pasadena with a satisfactory selection. The focus in this shop is on wine and spirits, but their beer selection is growing thanks to an attentive buyer who's interested making their selection top notch. If you don't see what you're looking for, make sure you ask for it, and don't be surprised if it's there the next time you pop in. A majority of their beer is kept in walled coolers. Here you may find some good locals like Alpine and Bootleggers as well as select imports, from trappist beers to saisons.

This is Pasadena's premiere liquor store--and an independent at that, which is nice.

The focus here is on liquor and wine, but the beer selection is a pretty nicely selected combination of imports and domestic craft beers. The selection changes periodically, and there is always something good to pick up. The imports feature some of the usual suspects along with some surprises. The range covers Beligians, English, German, and this being an area with a large Armenian population you will also find Lebanese, Armenian, and Russian selections. The craft beer selection is not the biggest in town (Whole Foods has more) but the selection tends to go a bit deeper in some cases like a broad range of Stone and Lagunitas including beers not carried anywhere else in town. They also carry the occasional growlers. The staff is very helpful and will take requests.

The only place I go in Pasadena to buy beer, few know about it's ever growing beer selection! The staff is awesome, helpful and eager to help.

The beer program here is very young and the staff welcomes suggestions for new additions. With the friendly staff here no one will make you feel bad about asking questions or looking around. The Beer of The Week program allows you to try something new at a discount.

Prices are fair on beer, and if your a local you can not beat the fact that you will not have to go far for a great selection. The location is huge, clean and amazing.
