Whole Foods is always good in my book but after reading reviews about this place and that it was close to where I was staying I thought I would check it out.
So I get there and as soon as I go up to the beer section I was greeted by Mike. I was like "your the guy the talk about on BA!?" So he helped me pick out some beer. I told him what I liked and he picked out some bottles that he thought I would like. $100 later I walked out very happy.
I then came home and wanted to check out the beer bottles on BA and found everyone he picked out was reviewed at A or higher!

THANKS MIKE! To bad you don't work at the Haight Street Whole Foods in SF :(

The employees of Whole Foods disrespect customers. The craft beer selection at the Whole Foods in Glendale is awful. You can get better deals at either Ralph's or Von's which are both nearby. Everything sold at Whole Foods is too expensive. Whole Foods calls in tow trucks to tow away people's cars for the smallest reasons. The neighborhood cops ticket or tow cars who park nearby. It is cheaper to shop at the Ralph's across the street. The Ralph's is a better place without any drama. There is a Von's three blocks away which has better parking and lower beer prices too.

Smaller beer section than I would have expected for a Whole Foods (pretty disappointing). Good representation of West Coast and Local Brew, with some others mixed into the mix. The prices are a bit steep compared to other local establishments, but I think that is part of the "Whole Foods Way of Thinking". Overall not a bad stop if you are in a bind.

I've been here a few times. Went there this past saturday to get some groceries and had a chance to talk to Matt. He recommended a bunch of stuff. They had just got in the Jester King Brews, which he recommended along with some other brews. Very nice guy that didn't mind spending the time to talk to me about his selection. He let me know he had fresh Pliny in the back, which is always nice. I picked up a Epic Brewing Imperial IPA. Highly recommended if you live close by or are going to be in the neighborhood.

This is a huge Whole Foods that is very busy. Parking can be tough. I thought the prices were pretty standard, nothing too overpriced and even a little lower than some other places I've been to.

I made a quick stop here the other night after reading about it on BA. It’s a pretty normal Whole Foods inside but they do have an expanded beer selection that is quite impressive. I didn’t interact with anyone working there but it was very easy to see what was out. There is a wide selection of big bottles, individuals, and 6/4 packs for sale. Lots of beer I have never seen sold at Whole Foods (De Molen, Upright, certain Mikkeller beers) and I have never seen anywhere else in California (RJ Rockers, Sprecher Barleywine). Everything was refrigerated and seemed to be within the dates. There were some vintage bottles for sale (such as the Sprecher Barleywine from 2007). Prices were normal Whole Foods prices so a bit pricey but nothing too bad. I would highly recommend coming here if you are in the area and are in search of quality and harder to find beers.

Whole Foods Market in Glendale, California is a fantastic place to purchase beer. I've been going there for over a year now and have always left a happy customer. Their selection mostly consists of west coast beers (with exceptions obviously) and they never ever ever ever disappoint. This is due to the fact that their "beer guy", Mike, is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to beer.

So whenever you're in the area, ask for MIKE and he'll definitely set you up. Also, grab a bite to eat. They have EVERYTHING.

I have been to my fair share of Whole Foods in Hollywood and West Hollywood, but someone was given the reigns on this production. The beer selection is 30% larger than most with a spread that rivals most wine stores. I saw plenty of strange offerings that were welcome and enticing, however, I have just visited red carpet wine so I couldn't take full advantage

For example, one strange dark horse I saw was Nebraska Brewing's 2009 Imperial Stout for $26, why was it there? How? I have no idea but I wanted to try it. SOme other obscure Mikkeller and norweigen brews lined the shelves. Certainly worth checking out.

This has been my "go to" lately.

Mike is an incredible BA and really knows his stuff. He'll stand there and talk with you about everything he has on the shelf if you'll let him. Great guy and extremely knowledgable.

The atmosphere would be better, but lets face it...its a grocery store. Almost always crowded, and the beer aisle seems to be pretty packed with everything that is going on around it.

Mike rotates his selection frequently. It seems like he's the only guy in the area that can frequently bring in Alpine and he has a great Belgian selection. He brings in the majority of limited releases and typically gets more than the rest of the whole foods that I have been to. Everything is very farely priced and he will almost always let you break up 6 packs or 4 packs if you don't want to purchase the whole thing.

Great job Mike, I will continue to be a loyal customer!

Exceptional place to purchase craft beer in the LA area! Inexpensive compared to their competitors. Not to mention, their quantity and selection, dwarfs the rest. BevoMo is for suckers!

The Beer Buyer Mike, is one knowledgeable dude. His knowledge is backed by his passion for all things craft beer! His "bed side" manor is attentive and personable. He is very informative, both, on the Glendale Whole Food's Facebook page, and in person. He'll even reserve beer for ya!

Unlike BevoMo, Mike will recommend exceptional advice on prime food pairings for your beer choice, to achieve the utmost sensory experience.

Another helpful aspect of Glendale Whole Foods' beer dept. is even if Mike's not there. You can still receive craft beer recommendations from him. He marks the beers of his choice with cards labeled, "What's Mike Drinking".

If you are in the LA area, and want to receive the best craft beer shopping experience, at reasonable prices, stop by Glendale Whole Foods. Seek out Mike; you can't miss him. He's 6 foot 3 in Lederhosen!

Whole Foods Glendale is the establishment that got me into beer 2 years ago. I am very spoiled because I live and work only a few minutes away from them. Where this Whole Foods stands out in terms of beer is that they dont only offer the everyday joe brews. They frequently get limited releases and exciting seasonals, and Mike (Head Beer Dude) is always more than happy to put beers on hold for his customers. The Whole Foods vibe doesnt make you feel like an alcoholic popping into a liquor store everyday, so i get my lunch, talk with Mike, and almost always leave with some beer in my cart.

Glendale Whole Foods Beer Selection is some of the best beer selection I've seen. There are only a handful of beer stores I go to in the Los Angeles Area, and this one if surely one of them. And to note, Mike is the mannn. He's their beer buyer, but he's overwhelmingly knowledgable about all the beers he carries, and then some. Great beer selection, especially for being in glendale. Love this place. Defenitely a good GO-TO for anyone in the Area. Ask for Mike when you get to the beer section, he'll advise you about what he's got, what's coming up, and he'll recommend things based on his personal tasting experience. Awesome place!
