Woodstocks is probably one of my least favorite places to get pizza in town, which is surprising because it's also one of the most popular among college folk. Don't get me wrong, it's good but most of the pizzas are not great (except for the firebird, that's awesome). The service has always been really good, everybody there is really nice. Try going their during their trivia night on Thursday. Always a good time and you can win some free slices.

The beer selection is hit and miss, however it has gotten better. Basically they have between 6 or 7 taps that are mostly good stuff (boont, sierra nevada etc.) and they have a "seasonal" and a special beer on tap. These are usually pretty good stuff from around california. I had torpedo for the first time on tap there (amazing!). Worth a visit, but go in the afternoon/dinnertime before all of the undergrads take over.

We went to Woodstock's tonight, mainly because ive been starved for good places that have dinner and decent beer and i'd seen that someone added it to BeerFly. It's an order-at-the-counter place so you order food at one site and then beer in the other room. We got a garlic pizza that was really, really good, a massive improvement over any pizza that we had available in the town we lived in 6 months ago (South Bend, IN). Beer selection was good too, though i'm mainly influenced by the fact that Deschutes Dissident on tap (!). Other beers were a bit more run of the mill: sierra nevada pale, Leinies Sunset wheat (ugh), Black Diamond Hefe, a porter from the new Napa Smith Brewing Co. (i had this too and it was very good), anchor steam, etc. About 10 taps total, give or take. Beer prices were in a tiered system (good beer/great beer/very good beer/fantastic beer (or something like that)) but assignment of beers to catragories seemed arbitrary (Guinness and Stella were more expensive than Napa Smith or Deschutes). Service was good, bartender reasonably knowledgeable. We'll go back, if only to see what replaces Dissident (fingers crossed for The Abyss!)
