The Pour Farm Tavern

This is the only bar i check out when i visit the in-laws in New bedord. Its fun, has a mug club, and has plenty of tasty taps and food. The area around this bar is very chill.

I enjoy the tap list here and you will bump into a beer nerd or two with whom you can talk shop. The food is good pub fare. New bedford downtown has a ton of potential, and thankfully this bar is already here.

This and Rose Alley closer to the waterfront are two strong reasons to visit New Beige. Great selection of unusual and unexpected regional brews. Always something delicious to try with a list that caters to all tastes. Friendly bartenders who are always willing to offer a taste and their opinion on a particular beer, the Pour Farm is a great place to have a pint (or three) and enjoy their homemade menu featuring sandwiches and appetizers. Good stuff!

New Bedford's downtown is beginning its resurgence back to the days of old. Fortunately, this place can fill the niche for the best craft beers in the area.
There are 24 taps and one (sometimes) cask, and the menus are printed daily due to a constant change in the kegs.

I love the fact that on any given day, I find about 2-3 different brews that are rare and unique and I would never be able to find if it weren't for the Pour Farm.

If you order off the food menu, I personally recommend the Cubano, a pulled pork sandwich with ham, cheese, and a spicy pickle that is amazing.

 

 

A nice establishment, and real easy to find. I stopped in on a Tuesday around seven p.m. and it was crowded. Luckily there was an open table.

There was twenty four beers on tap with majority of them being local or regional beers. The night I was there they had a good amount of obscure beers from MA, most of which I had not heard of. Always great to find new local beers. You can also get sampler of four beers for ten dollars. A pretty decent bottle list as well. Overall a good selection.

Service was prompt for the most part and attentive despite how busy it was. Nice staff in general.

Food is great here. Some of the best bar food I have had.

Overall this is a really nice spot in New Bedford and I recommend stopping here.

The Pour Farm takes the cake for local pubs for me and my buds.

The selection is always fantastic, with a constant rotation of new brews and breweries. The service is top notch and all of the bartenders are willing to not only let you try a new brew, but will often help with a well-guided suggestion. A "bar" where the bartenders actually try and learn the beers?...what a concept.

If you happen to go early for dinner, be VERY surprised at the selection of some great meals and apps, as well as some creative and delicious specials. I try and make dinner here at least 2-3 times a month.

If you are in the city and want a beer, head to the Pour Farm Tavern and bring your drinking shoes...You'll be happy you did.

Awesome selection of delicious craft brews. Great personality of staff and very helpful with selcting the right brew for you. Only sat at the bar but they have a cool outside setup. Easy to find place with great prices and selections for someone with a palat for different brews. Parking can be a bit hard to find on the wekend, but thats expected in the city. Also they have no problems with letting you try something first before you commit to buy that pint. They actually reccomend and push you to try it beforehand if you havent before which I thought was helpful with some.

Visited her on Saturday afternoon about 2PM, so the atmosphere was probably not what most people will experience. When we went we were the only ones there, but some others trickled in. The inside bar was typical stools and tv with a couple of high tables. They have a gated outdoor area with tables and grass right outside the building, and we sat there for a late lunch. It was very relaxing. The service was very attentive, nice, and knowledgeable. I believe there were 24 beers on tap with a good selection including, Firestone-Walker, Founders, Just Beer, and Southern Tier being among the highlights. I do like how their website was kept up to date with what was being currently served. I checked it out earlier in the day. What makes the Pour Farm a must stop is the food. Everytime I am in New Bedford, I will stop here. I had the most amazing falafel. My wife had a cuban sandwich, and we split a humus platter. There were plenty of other more traditional options like burgers and chicken as well. My mouth was watering. Despite having world class beer, I could not get enough of the food. This has got to be right up there with the all time best food at a bar that I have had. It is not just good food for a bar. The Pour Farm makes a perfect place to have an inexpensive and tasty meal while enjoying a great craft brew. My wife is an occasional beer drinker, but I will have no problem convincing her to stop here again.

This pub is a treat. You get a solid rotation of beers on tap, so even regulars have to check the menu before ordering. The bottle list is small enough to know that your beer is fresh and wide enough to fit any flavor mood you may be in.

The food is FANTASTIC. We're not talking about basic bar burgers, fried anythings - this is a great stand-alone menu that even a teetotaler would walk through the doors for.

Prices are fair and reasonable, the bar staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the owner is a hoot; Craig is often seen mixing it up with the patrons and truly enjoying his establishment.

It's the kind of place that you want to come back to again and again.

Oh, I don't want to forget the Mug Club. If you drink 100 beers, ANY 100 beers, you get a mug that holds a larger than average pour of anything on tap. The mugs are made by a local artisan and are actually quite nice. I'm working on mine right now and I am looking forward to the day I've got one sitting behind the bar!

Additionally, the bar is a rotating gallery for local artists. Can't leave that bit out either!

In short, the Pour Farm is a great place for a bite, a pint and a few hours with friends and soon-to-be friends. Don't miss this when you come to the whaling city!

This is an awesome clean and cozy place in Downtown New Bedford. The have a great selection of various high-quality taps and bottles including proper glassware. Everything from locals like Just Beer and Mayflower to Allagash, Dogfish Head, etc. Super friendly staff. Their food is excellent - be sure to try the ribs! The black beam burger is also very tasty. I only wish I was a bit closer, I'd be here a lot more often. Certainly a "can't miss" place if you are in the area or passing through New Bedford.

Visited the Pour Farm on 9/11/2010 after a run to Just Beer. Not a large establishment, but a nice atmosphere. Seating essentially consisted of 12 seats at the bar and four high top tables. Very clean and bright with a nice tavern feel and lots of wood. In speaking with bartender, there seems to be some indication of opening up the second floor for some expansion. 24 taps with a solid representation of local and seasonal brews. Examples included Rare Vos, Lindeman's Raspberry Framboise, Gritty's Blackfly, GI Honkers, Arrogant Bastard, Chimay White, Mayflower Porter and Autumn Wheat, Victor, Wurzburger Fest, Delirium Nocturnum and a few others. The bottle fridge had a good selection of 12oz. and 22oz. format bottles including Bitches Brew, Local 1 and many other offerings. In terms of food, the Pour Farm has a solid bar menu and I have to say the Cubano and fries was perhaps one of the best sandwiches I have had in some time and was quite a value at $6.95. Service was friendly and prompt. A great place and a great value if you are in the New Bedford area.

Well I finally made it to New Bedford and was happy with what I found. Pour Farm is a nice, high quality, friendly beer bar. I was there around 1:30 or 2PM on a Saturday and there weren't many patrons but the service was very friendly and helpful.

There were 24 taps which included Mayflower Porter, Wurzburger FestBier and Chimay Tripel. Some of the other taps were from Goose Island, Stone, Troegs and Allagash. A well rounded tap list in my opinion.

The food was inexpensive and delicious. I had the special which was a bison burger which was melt in your mouth tender and cooked exactly as I asked.

If I'm ever in the area it is a must stop for me.

A breath of fresh air in the dire downtown New Bedford scene. Pour Farm is small, though there's constant talk of getting the upstairs going, but the list packs a punch. Rotates frequently, with all sorts of goodness from Stone, Allagash, Smuttynose...even personal guilty pleasure Lindeman's Framboise. In an area where the most exotic thing on most beer taps is Corona, an actual beer bar is a welcome addition. Crowd skews a bit older, not surprisingly, making it a nice respite from the rowdy college kids you'll find at other area places like Fins, Catwalk, or the Garden. Service is usually prompt and knowledgable, though can get a bit bogged down on a weekend night. Absolutely my preferred place for a drink in New Bedford.

The Pour Farm is a great beer bar. There are 18 taps, always dispensing something different. The glassware is clean and there are a couple specialty pieces. There are components to make a wide variety of mixed drinks.

It's very local to me so I find myself dropping in quite a bit.

I'm updating this review. Things haven't changed too much, which is great. The offerings at one point were very IPA-centric, but now, there are a lot more styles available on-tap. It's a bit more Belgian / Belgian-style friendly now, and because it's winter, there are plenty of warming dark beers. [Feb 2010]

The bottle selection is OK. It's a tough sell for a beer bar to stockpile a ton of bottles if they don't move. It seems like people still get them, though.

Stopped by while on business at area university. Basically a 12-15 person bar with three small tables, a jukebox playing classic rock/blues, I didn't see any food being served. About 15 taps, high quality stuff from out of area (Brooklyn, Founders (!), Rogue) and the usual area suspects (Smuttynose, New England). They have a beer flight option of 4 5 oz. pours that provides a chance to try a variety of different brews. The service, while knowledgeable, was inattentive at best, spent first 10 minutes after our arrival on the phone, then couldn't remember our order. In an area not known for craft beer, this was a real oasis. Worth a visit by traveling BAs.

Visited this place for the first time in the middle of a snow storm because Stone Brewery was doing a tasting.

Place is clean and cosey. A small place where the bar takes up about half of it. Might have been an upstairs area that wasn't open that night. Hopefully it was because otherwise that would be a big downside to this place, the size. Other then that I can't say much bad about it. Had a lot of the Stone selection regularly on draft. Plus about 12 or so others. A good selection in bottles as well, including some hard to find and limited selections. The bartenders also seemed to be knowledgeable about what they were serving as to help you find something you liked. They don't do food so if you're hungry better have an appetite for pretzels. Everything was reasonably priced too.

Would highly recommend to people if you are in the area.
