Pours an orange/ochre body that's not entirely clear, but closer to that than the alternative. Decent initial head settles very quickly into nothing more than a patchy mosaic of wet bubbles across the cap.

Light on the nose, but it's got a crisp spicy bready current to it. Maybe some light fruits and earthy hops. Really have to go digging for it though.

Flavour has much of the same sort of light crisp creamy white bread malts. Maybe some light earthy hops and a touch of caramel.
Clean and drinkable, with light constant prickling of carbonation. Overall nothing that gets me horribly excited, but easy enough to drink and at least has something to it.
Thanks @TongoRad for sending these along in your awesome NBS BIF#4 MWK box!!

Pours gold with one inch head, clear, and high carbonation. Taste is toasted malt, honey, and tree bark. Clean and crisp. Solid example of the style and a go to when I want a marzen. Love the way Sly Fox does lagers.

L: Rather light for a märzen, clear and really light brown with a substantial white head.
S: Not much of a nose. First thought that came to mind was ketchup.
T: A little light but nice and malty. Could be more complex but not bad.
F: As expected for a märzen

10/17...pours clear, a very light amber with heavy thick white foam. Hearty malt nose, really bready. Caramel too. Soft malty flavor, very clean, smooth and then a very tight bitter at the close. Chewy. Quite good, exactly what an Oktoberfest should deliver. Worked through this sixer very quickly.

Negligent malt sweetness. Very crisp and slightly woodsiness. Orange, hazy and choppy white head. Floral, herbal hop taste.

Type: 16-oz. draft
Glass: Mason jar glass
From: Clem’s Roadside Bar & Grill in State College, Pa.
Price: $4.00 (guess)
Purchased: Sept. 25, 2015
Consumed: Sept. 25, 2015
Misc.: N/A

Poured an orange, pale, clear color with two fingers of white, frothy head. Decent amount of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Above average, sporadic, foamy lacing on the sides of the glass. Average-to-above average retention. (Sight - 4.00)

Smelled buttery malts, toffee, toasty malts, dark fruits and honey. (Smell - 3.50)

Tasted similar to the nose, slightly boozier. Got buttery malts, slight butterscotch, toffee, honey, wheat and sourdough bread. (Taste - 3.50)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt finish. (Feel - 3.50)

A decent Octoberfest, but not great. I probably overrated it a tad, especially with the taste. (Overall - 3.50)
