Appearance: 1 inch head, hazy, light yellow in color, high carbonation
Smell: grain and slight lemon
Taste: malty, grain, bread, and slight lemon
Mouthfeel: sweet with slight bitter end, light bodied with high carbonation
Overall: A nice and clean sessionable lager. Not the most complex beer, but a good one. I have had better in the style, but would not turn this down.

Poured into a sampler cup as part of a Sly Fox tasting at Bierkraft in Brooklyn. This was the first beer I tasted.
A--True to its name, this is was golden, almost like freshly pressed and filtered apple juice. Nearly yellow. White fizzy head left a little rim in the tiny cup.
S--This probably was due in part to the receptacle, but still, not much there in the way of either malt or noble hops. Maybe some faint grassiness.
T--Very clean, with bright notes of crystal malt with a spicy (Saaz?) bitterness behind it. A clarified, well lagered beer. Absolutely no detectable off-notes just pure fresh goodness. This one was first off the gun in terms of tasting, which is a tough spot to occupy, and shined.
M&D--Both are quite good. Mouthfeel is spritzy and crisp, very scrubbing and refreshing. Drinkability is perfect for a warm day or a day when you just want to kick back.
Perfect session beer if you're in the mood for a fresh German style lager.

Sly Fox- Helles Golden Lager
A- Bright golden yellow with a small soapy foamy head. Clear and nice bubbly carbonation.
S- Light crisp lemony bready malt with fresh cut grassy hops.
T- Sweet lemon/ honey touched crusty bready malt nice sweet earthy fresh grassy hop finish.
M- Lightly sweet and malty with a nice transition into a earthy mildly dry hoppiness.
Overall- Delicious and quenching. This 1 is a must to try if you visit the Brewpubs.

I had two of these over dinner the other night and they were so-so. That said I'd like to try it outside of the can.

On tap @ the Sly Fox Brewing Company (Phoenixville, PA) on 10/9/11. Served in a pint glass.
Pours a clear gold, with a ½ finger of bright-white head. This retains with a thin frothiness, which bunches up around the sides of the glass, leaving back a smattering of creamy lace down the sides. The aroma smells grassy and spicy, with a fresh underlying leafy citrus character. The malts have a moderate tightness in the nose, which offers up some flavorful support and overall crispness to this.
The taste has a firm citric snap across the tongue, which spreads leafy flavors and a spicy bitterness out into the mouth. Sweet bready grains do a nice job of balancing this, while those Noble hops pull up the finish with a dry spiciness and a touch of lingering bitter fruit. The mouthfeel has a lighter medium bodied feel to it, with an overall crispness to the carbonation that keeps this tight in the mouth. Pretty overall easy feel to this here.
They excel at German styles here at Sly Fox and this was no different. This was just a crisp, flavorful, and most of all EXREMELY drinkable take on the style, with my only complaint being that this was maybe a bit too dry and spicy in the finish. Other than that though, this was had a tremendous quaffable nature to it. Good stuff!
