Initially I was scared to drink beer from a can after remembering the big taste difference between can vs bottle in my youth. Pours into pub glass with a amber slight light rosy color with medium beige head. It is medium body with light lacing. Smells mainly of spicy hops, somewhat woody and bready. Taste as smells with a nice balance between maltiness and hops. Nice smooth mouthfeel with a clean finish and refreshing. Easy session beer. I expected and would have liked to have had a little more complexity with the taste and smell for an IPA. I would never have known it came from a can if I hadn't poured it myself. Cans/technology have come a long way!

This pale ale had just enough hops up front, but still allowed the malt shine through. Cloudy orange golden body, small head, sticky lacing. Aroma is mostly malt, hops come in at first taste, mild bitter finish. Really nice

Very light copper, more of a dark gold color. Very fluffy white head. On the nose were fresh hops, possibly cascades, full of a clean citrus and peppery scent. Taste was on the light side, light grains, lemon and again with the citrus hops. Overall the flavor was a easy going, not overly complex and fairly smooth and a little astringent. Finished a little bitter and herbal.

A nice beer, one to drink, not really think about too much.

I remember drinking at the Phoenixville brewpub while living in the area 2002-2003 and I believe I tried this at the time its nice to see it around here now.Poured into a standard pint glass a clear light copper with a huge blooming head a bit to large as it unexpectedly overflowed the glass, crystal malt really shows itself in the nose somewhat fruity with a hint of mineral a decent citrusy hopsmack shows as well.Somewhat light flavor-wise lightly sweet caramel malt with a biscuity character mingles into a leafy, citrusy finish. The body just lacks a bit not giving it a little push that it needs. Its a quaffer decent flavors but nothing to write home about.

Had on tap at the Irish Pub we stopped by - wanted to try this one, as I have heard good things about Sly Fox in the past.

Color was a medium yellow with a good head. The nose had some hits of malt and hops, but it was fairly non-descript. The taste was a lot less hoppier than I would have expected, but it was not a detracter from the beer. Very drinkable - almost reminded me a bit more of a spicy Blonde Ale. Would certainly have another pint.

Surprisingly my favorite beer there as I am not much of a Pale Ale fan most of the time. Poured a rich amber in color with a white lacy head that followed the beer down the glass. Head retention was quite good. Sweet malt and fruity, citrus dominate the nose. Not surprisingly, these aromas continue in the mouth. Sweet malt was a little more pronounced in flavor than aroma, but was well balanced by a nice hop bitterness and citrusy flavors. Overall a pretty good brew that I ended up going home with in a growler.

8/15...pours orange colored, rusty, hearty white packed foam. Toasty, toffee, bready nose - quite pleasing. Toasted fire wood flavor. Earthy malt blend, firm hop throughout. Fantastic balance, tasty and then some.

Poured from a can, this beer is a medium golden-amber color. White head, a little fizzy. The aroma is of herbal, fresh hops, backed by a toasted malt scent. Typical american pale ale smell. The taste is a blend...a nice balance of malt and hops. Bitterness comes early, with a firm hop flavor. There is a bit of fruit...pear and orange peel? The malt is there as well...lightly toasted and bready...with some restrained sweetness. The finish is lingering and quite bitter. This one is very enjoyable.

poured into a pint glass out of a can. pours a reddish copper amber color, with the tinyest bit of sediment. nice fluffy slightly off white head. pretty good head retention with just a little bit of lace.

in the aroma you get some grassy citrus hop with some slight biscuity, slight caramel malts. kind of a subdued aroma.

very well balanced flavor. biscuity bready and caramel malts combines with grassy, citrus, and pine hops. a nice level of bitterness. finishs piney grassy bitter.

light to almost medium body. such a smooth and refreshing mouthfeel. crisp and clean.

superior drinkability, i could pound these all night long. definatly one of the better pale ales out there, i would highly recommend this for a session beer. i had a couple of these the other day while working on a friends car. but they can go well in pretty much any situation. so much better out of the glass than the can though. i will be visiting this one again for sure.

Nifty looking can from Sky Fox in Pottstown PA. This beer has a nice orange golden slightly hazy look with an offwhite head a lots of carbonation bubbles seen rising. The scent is pretty dead on for an APA, mix of malt and hops but nothing exciting. Flavor is pretty good with an even blend of biscuit malt and hops, not really sweet nor very bitter. Crisp and fairly well carbonated and slightly on the thinner side. I could see these going down quickly.

Thin sticky lace rides above a slightly hazy pumpkin-orange/brown brew.

Aroma is a nice mix of clean, bready malt and citric hops.

Flavor is really balanced and tasty. Bready, slightly toasted malt reaches an equilibrium with juicy grapefruit and lime tinged hops. Very drinkable, the only minor critique I have is that this seems to be slightly over-carbonated. Other than that, it would be an A+ choice for sessioning. And the can makes it possible for this beer to go places that bottles aren't allowed -- I'll definitely keep it in mind for summer outings.

after all the times I have been to slyfox, I have never had this particular beer. and I have to say I truely enjoy this from a can presentation.

Pours a wonderful amber color, with a nice, foamy tanish head

Very floral nose, with a nice addition of cut grass.

Wonderfully malty. But cut in such a wonderfully precise way with the hops. You get the intially malty goodness, then come a great and citrusy hop finish and a rather clean aftertaste. very drinkable, very enjoyable. and all available in a convienent can! good job fellas!

Served on cask at TDR Exton in a standard pint glass

Pours a golden amber color with a thick white foamy head.

Lots of fruit in the nose, melon, apple, and a few other fruits I can't identify.

Floral hops come right out in the flavor, the fruit is there too, sweet and refreshing.

A very nice cask pale ale - easy to drink, sessionable, a good beer to drink watching the game at the bar.I would be interested in comparing this not on cask, right now I think will be best on cask, but it will be fun to find out...

Aroma was of malt, and cereal as well as some hops and citrus. Really nice beer, easy to drink, all the elements/flavors worked well togethor. There was malt, hops, then some citrus on the finish. This was not a hop overload beer, the hops kind of crept up after the first taste of malt

There is a slight haze, but the cask was not cellared properly! Deep amber in color with a bright white head that holds extremely well and leaves a very good lace. There's a nice, slightly citrusy, hoppy aroma that's subtly backed by a lightly sweet maltiness. The body is medium-light with a very soft, fine and bright carbonation. The mouthfeel is quite smooth. The flavor is very well balanced between the light crystal malt and a gentle hop flavor. It's solidly bitter but extremely well-balanced! A gentle hoppiness also follows into the finish. An excellent session beer even at 5.25%. Quite enjoyable! Well worth trying.

This one poured a copper color and had a nice creamy head on it.
The main thing that stood out with this beer was the aroma. It was very intense. Flowery and fruity hop smell. The aftertaste was a little too bitter for me, but I enjoyed it regardless.
I would order it again.

Sampled at the Sly Fox brew house in Phoenixville, Pa.

This beer poured a golden color and had a thin white head. As I remembered – The hops are the main accent with this beer. Very intense citrus and flowery aroama. In your face. Nice grainy body that went down easy.

Pours an amber with a small whitish head with ok retention. Little lacing observed. Nose is sweet and floral with some caramel, pine, toffee, orange that comes through. Taste is replete with a piney, nutty, grassy base and sweetness of some fruit. There is some bitterness in the finish but this stays fairly sweet all the way through. Mouthfeel is creamy and medium bodied. This is a decent beer but there's nothing here that I would go out of my way to seek out.

This beer pours into the glass a dark amber in color. The head is a pure white that lasted a long time. The lace that was left was nice and stretched to the end of the beer. The aroma is of hops, citrus and some hints of a sweet malt. The taste has hints of the sweet malt grains and citrus, and then hops. The hop flavor seems to last to the finish, but not overbearing. This is a smooth nice beer.
