Served in a pint glass. Clear yellow/orange.

Smells like bananas, cloves, some ginger, pears, tea qualities.

Taste is spicy like the nose..more cloves, slight vinegar taste, grapes, pears, slight booze, little bitterness.

Had this with some wood fired pizza, twas tasty.

Appearance: Pours a hazy light golden color with a meringue of a head that takes forever to drop

Smell: Lemon meringue, white pepper and yeasty tones

Taste: Starts with a yeasty tart lemon meringue pie aspect; after the swallow a a grainy bitterness appears and leaves abruptly, only to be replaced by the yeast and lemon meringue pie tartness that lasts into the finish

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with plenty of carbonation; some warmth on the finish

Drinkability: A very nice take on the style; great to see this brewery give it a shot

750 ml bottle. 8 oz pour. Beer is a hazy straw color with a 3 finger head that really sticks around well. There is an incredibly active carbonation and a moderate clarity on this one. Nose is nice, with banana esters, creamyness, herba, hop, spiceyness, and a touch of candied sweetness. Lots going on there...just what I want in a saison. Flavor is awesome. First thing I notice is the awesome noble hop that really comes through. The banana ester is more subdued. A moderate lemony zing comes through and really plays well with the noble hop. The candies sugar lends a very nice and subtle sweetness to it. It finishes with a very nice spicey hop that is just a bit bitter. A very complex and tasty brew. Feel is moderate with a very active carbonation that makes it feel light and airy. This one is an incredibly enjoyable beer. I really like the interplay between the hoppyness and the lemonyness. Very easy drinking beer with a great flavor.

Growler from the Phoenixville location. Golden orange with a good sized white head that laced up the glass fairly well. A good amount of funky things are going on in the aroma along with some fruity sweetness. A bit spicy as well. Flavor starts of a bit sweet with noticeable fruit notes coming through. Nice musty earthiness to it with some spice backing it up. Good mouthfeel for the style and it is quite refreshing. Pretty drinkable stuff as I had no problem finishing the growler.

Cloudy straw yellow with a rocky, fluffy, white head supported by constant streams of bubbles. As the foam subsided, thick clumps of lace were left on the glass. Very nice. Lemony, bready aroma with a bit of tartness and white pepper. Sweet, doughy flavour with some citrus and spice. Alcohol and peppery tingle lingers on the palate along with a hint of tart fruit and white grapes. Medium/light body and high carbonation that fills the mouth with foam at each sip. Just off-dry with a hint of residual sugar. Nicely balanced and quite enjoyable.

Sampled at biegaman's super extravaganza spring Saison tasting! Biegaman cracked this one open.

Pours a golden yellow, slightly hazed, huge soapy white head, tons of sticky lace, good retention, doesn't leave, looks good. Smell is sweet, spices, yeast, caramel, sweet and sour note at the end. Taste is yeasty, sweet/sour, spices, more yeast, bread, some light fruits, not bad. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with high carbonation, spritzy, not bad, really refreshing. Thanks Jan!

(Served in a talk sided tulip glass)

A- This beer has a lemon yellow crystal clear body with tiny bubbles swirling around forming a super thick mousey foam that soon turns to dish soap bubbles.

S- The biggest aroma is the dry green herbal note that is still light but followed by a lighter earthy perfume note.

T- This beer has a smooth dry taste that develops into a slightly sweet note followed by some light pepper and spice finish.

M- This beer has a light mouthfeel with a tight fizz in the finish.

D- The light smooth flavor makes this very nice to quaft with some subtle hints of flavor that add a good depth.

750ml corked and caged bottle from the royersford location.. sweet label!

a bright golden brew in my chimay chalice. very intricate weblike lacing and belgian in its mild haziness, foamy head with small bubble stream. orangey, yeasty aroma is inviting and more belgian pale than saisony. flavor dips into the pilsner realm, fresh and fruity with ripe summer citrus. very comfortable brew to sip, very safe. spice is there but very mild, and presented in a way that introduces less peppery notes and more christmas, sweet spice. this would be a good place for a yuengling drinker to cut his teeth on spiced/saison ale.. i found this to be an excellent beer, just mislabeled. do not go for this if you're looking for something to hit the high funk notes of a fantome or the hoppy green notes of theriez or la chouffe.

This slightly cloudy apricot-tinted beer produces a huge frothy head. Plenty of streams of carbonation arising from the bottom. Aroma is sour with a hint of clove. Taste is sour with good earthy feel. Nice malt finish with a pleasant aftertaste. A light tingly mouthfeel well in keeping with the style. Overall, I was pretty impressed with this beer and I look forward to having it again.

03/28/07- Received via trade with Jetsbeer.

Presentation- 750ml bottle, both caged and corked. No freshness info to be found. Poured into my Duvel tulip.

Appearance- Orange-peach puree color. Larger than a inch very white head. Looks fairly chunky (the head), while the beer itself is a bit couldy from ultra fine yeast particles. Lacing is present, but nothing spectacular...an otherwise perfect appearance per style.

Smell- Mild farmhouse stink with some white pepper, corriander and some tart lemon. Maybe a bit of powdered sugar as well.

Taste- Mirrors the smell. Not as funky in flavor, but has plenty of spicyness going on with a light sugary flavor to balance out the mid range tartness. Lemony tang as well.

Mouthfeel- Fairly well carbonated with a light sticky mouthfeel.

Drinkability- Good flavors and refreshing. One of the better american made saisons. Thanks for the great beer Steven!

Pours a lightly hazy medium yellow with a large, white, pillowy head with good retention. The smell is of moderate wheat over yeast and mild malt aromas. Citrus, flowers, coriander, melon, green apple and some light banana. The fruitiness is light but very nice. Taste-wise, it’s quite similar to the nose, but better. Malts come on a little stronger accompanied by some fruity esters, dry hops, and a little more spiciness. The finish is floral, lightly bitter and slightly astringent. It has a medium-light body and slightly syrupy texture. Pretty good, but nothing spectacular.
