on tap @ DBB Base-camp

A- pours a hazy orange-yellow color with a small creamy white head that eventually reduces, leaving thick lace around the glass

S- classic Hefe aromas or banana and clove, crisp wheat basement must with some earthy tones, and drier leaves

T- big earthy flavors with some yeasty must meshes with sweet banana with a touch of clove, sweet fruity notes continue with hints of cantaloupe, pear and lemon peel. Slightly sweet finish with more earthy must

M- medium body with medium prickly carbonation, smooth and creamy mouthfeel with a velvety finish

O- classic Hefe flavors with some nice earthy notes mixed in, high drinkability

12oz can, sample from the brewery.

Thin head yields and even thinner lacing, bubbly pale golden liquid. Bready nose with suggestions of banana pith, ripe pears, & a faint bubblegum. Crisp carbonation, dry malt palate, banana taffy, mild spicy, nutty yeast, & a long bready maltiness. A decent stab at the style, worth a try.

The aroma immediately reminded me of Sierra Nevada's Kellerweis. The body for Trail Angel is lighter, but also a little more refreshing. The clove and mild banana, followed by a sweeter vanilla dough, go down very easy. I'd certainly buy a case of this in the summer. Great example of the style. I'd call it a session Hefe.

Pours a bright, hazy yellow-gold with minimal head and almost non-existent lacing. Aroma is heavy with banana-nut muffins and some sweet maltiness. Taste is full of banana, banana bread, some malt and yeast aromas. Nice, bold hefe and refreshing. Could drink many of these, its that good !

A thanks to the ruler of the canned beer kingdom, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a light golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, some banana. Taste is wheat, banana, light clove, refreshing. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall a decent beer, a bit on the mild side.

Middle of the road, run of the mill, mediocre, etc. There really isn't much more to say than that. This represents the style, but just barely. Flavors are muted and there is nothing that makes this brew stand out or memorable. Tasted on tap in DC.
