Poured from a 12oz bottle into a speiglau IPA glass.

Look is a light golden with a thin head.

Aroma is light Belgian esters.

Taste is more Belgian pale ale than IPA and the alcohol disappears between light malt.

Smells and tastes like old canned peaches. Not very hoppy or yeasty, just a cloyingly blah peach flavor and then a half assed bitter hop kick. Not a kick. More of a mild tap. You know the hops are there, but there are not enough of them for you to care. It is neither a good Belgian nor a good ipa. Even the color is somewhat dissapointing, looking more like muscadine wine then a beer. I was really excited to try this after reading reviews on here, but have since concluded that everyone just copied the flavor profile written by the company and pretended to like it. Most dissapointing beer I've had in awhile, and last week I accidentally drank a natty boh at a smelly college bar because my brother in law takes me to dumb places.

Being new to the whole beer review thing I'm not sure what I can add that hasn't already been said. I'm a fan of Belgian IPAs and this one certainly is one of the better ones I've had. Medium to light golden with hints of citrus or banana in smell that lingers in the taste. Crisp and smooth. Very refreshing.

Delicious! Summary description: refreshingly strong.

It has all the characteristics of a moderately strong Belgian IPA, but with a refreshing fruity character that makes it a good fit for a strong summer ale.

I've had Catty Wompus in previous years. It has always been a good brew. But this year (2016) was much better than my recollection of Catty Wompuses Past. (If the brewers are reading: Keep this recipe!)

A- Pours a medium to light golden in color. A small head is there and then gone just as fast with minimal lacing.

S- Classic Belgian yeasts hit the nose first, with some banana flavors and some esthery notes. Light fruit from the yeast also kicks in before the hops come next. Mild hops that are predominantly citrus forward are the latter half of the scent.

T- Fruity and banana forward flavors come first, just like in the scent. Again, the hops come next and turn the flavor towards its bitter side. Clove and banana flavor still lingers, but the citrus forward hops bitterness takes over in the back half of the drink and are the lingering flavor on the tongue.

M- Drinks as it should, light and carbonated while still being smooth. No noticeable alcohol presence.

Overall, not much to say about this one other than it follows expectations for a Belgian pale, displaying both the hops bitterness and the fruity, yeast qualities. Just a solid interpretation of the style.

It has a spicy hop and citrusy flavor that is more fulsome than I would have expected from an IPA. But that also means that it has less light and crispy refreshingness. I don't taste the "honey" that other reviewers praise.

Very juicy with a mild, spicy edge for the Belgian character. The aroma reminds me of sweet canned peaches, but the finish is balanced and a touch dry. There's a bit of citrus and hint of pine, but the peach is all I can think about when my nose is over the glass.
