The Eight Point is a decent more English style ipa. The beer poured copper clear with thin white head that is leaving some lace. The scent is bitter.....the taste is bitter through the drink. The mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall its good.

A: Pours a clear golden orange in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and faint copper highlights. The beer has a two finger tall sudsy foamy off-white head that reduces to a medium sized medium thick patch surrounded by a thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to heavy amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of citrus/grapefruit pith, citrus/orange rind, and pine hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of grainy + caramel malts.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of cracker, grainy, and caramel malts with a light amount of sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit pith, citrus/orange rind, and pine hops which imparts a moderate amount of lingering bitterness.

M: Medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation. Slightly creamy upfront with a light amount of dryness in the finish.

O: I found this one to be pretty enjoyable though a touch sweeter than some of the other IPAs that I have tried. I like the more aggressive citrus bitterness from the hops in the flavors of this beer. Easy to drink and one that I would grab again.

Didn't care for the IPA....
Many pints with the brewery reps visiting Winston Salem for tap takeovers at The Bull Tavern and Carlisle's. We hooked up with the reps and the distributor and they bought our drinks for the night! Great beer and great fun - lots of swag!!

Pours gold, with minimal head and low carbonation. Taste is citrus rind, husk, and light malt backbone. A well crafted sipper. I have other American IPAs that I prefer, but this is solid.

Look: Pours a nice golden color with a good head that leaves nice lacing

Smell: Piney and herbal hops

Taste: More piney and herbal hops, good bitterness with nice cracker and grain malts to balance it

Feel: Medium body with good carbonation

Overall: A good IPA that I'm glad to have where available
