One awesome-tasting beer! Give me a case after kayaking and fishing the Shenandoah River. Hard to beat!

12 oz bottle. Pours amber with tall, long-lasting, fluffy white head. Aroma is of grassy hops and caramel and biscuit malt. Body is medium and smooth. Grassy hops and caramel malt nicely balanced on the palate. Finish is long and semidry. Nice session brew.

Bottle dated 1.23.2017. Threshold beer glass.

A: pours a ruby/amber, with 1 finger bright white head that dissipates quickly. Lower visible carbonation than expected. Eliot Ness is noticeably darker, with tan head.

S: clean, with some mild bready notes, a little caramel, and some sweet dried fruit, believe it or not. Smells like a very, very, very mild version of Celebrator. Apparently what I like is not appropriate for the style.

T: arrives with a toasted bread and mild graininess; less sweet than I expected it to be, but still a malt driven affair. Toasted wheat bread with a mild dollop of honey. Very nice; would go exceptionally with food; probably light enough to session.

M: noticeable carbonation - spot on for the style; a touch prickly but that stops it from feeling heavy. Midweight with some slight slickness.

O: this is a really excellent Vienna lager. It is sweet and bready without being cloying; it remains light and refreshing while having heft and substance. By comparison, Eliot Ness is darker, more caramel and darker bread crust, fuller bodied, and has more of a lingering hop bite. DB Vienna is early April to Eliot Ness's late October. An elegant beer.

Devils Backbone Brewers, congrats on an outstanding lager! I really like this one! A little mist escapes the bottle after I pop the cap. Pours a beautiful amber color with a healthy and loud off-white head that dissipates quickly with a wee bit of lacing. Subtle bouquet of a lager and malts. Great refreshing lager taste and feel in the palate! This is an outstanding lager that goes down easy. I really enjoyed it!

This is a solid daily drinker. Nice light drinkable and a good example of a Vienna. This is not my favorite Vienna I have had but will do when I need a brew. This is highly available in my area and is one I consider whenever I am purchasing beer. Anyone can grab one of these at a party and wont complain.
Smell: Sweet, Bready
Taste: Lots of Caramel notes, Bready
Feel: Refreshing, Medium to light, Highly drinkable
