12 oz bottle, poured into a pint glass
Appearance: Pours a very pretty, golden, copper/orange with an eighth of finger of white head that completely dissolved away into nothing.
Aroma: Tons of spice notes up front: brown sugar, nutmeg, all-spice, cinnamon, ginger, pumpkin. Not much malt or hops aroma though.
Taste: Jesus, that’s good! Lots of excellent roasted pumpkin or butternut squash flavors up front, followed by some notes of spice of cinnamon, rosemary and thyme. Not much brown sugar flavor, which makes this pumpkin beer less sweet than others that I’ve had. Finally, there is no hops bitterness to speak of, which I overall prefer.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, with no carbonation. With an ABV of 5.1%, there is no presence of alcohol on the palate.
Overall: Wow, just wow. This beer is awesome! So much roasted squash flavor which I love! Completely original and unique. I’m definitely getting multiple six-packs of this next autumn. It’s fantastic! Another killer beer from Devils Backbone, my favorite Virginian brewery!

A- pours a bright and clear copper color with a small foamy white head that reduces quickly, leaving just a bit to float on the top
S- typical pumpkin spice aromas of cinnamon and clove, seems like there's some extra sweetness on the aroma, almost tart cherry-like, banana candy
T- pumpkin flavors are quite subtle, a malty sweetness kicks in mid-palate bringing some fruity notes, toasted malt with some cinnamon on the finish
M- medium-light body with medium prickly carbonation, foamy mouthfeel and finish
O- middle of the road for the style, but good drinkability
