12oz can, sample from the brewery.

Tan lacing puts on a show atop the black liquid. Roasty nose with some sweetness. Even roasted grain tone throughout, hits all of the bells and whistles for the style. Very smooth within the medium body. A very well put together beer.

The color is black and no light will be seeping through this brew. There's an inch of frothy brown foam resting on top. It dissipated to a fingernail after a few minutes. The nose is dark malt melding with flaked oats. It tastes just as it smells with dark, bitter malt interplaying with sweet flaked oats. The mouth is silky smooth and viscous.

Nice sized light brown head receded very slowly above a rich dark brown colored stout.
A decent aroma of roasted grain malts, grain, with maybe a bit of dark chocolate coming through as well.
The taste is similar to the aroma with roasted grain malts and a bit more dark chocolate but still not very much and the over all taste isn't as rich as the aroma is.
Nice dry aftertaste finishes this beer off pretty well.

I bought a can of this at a Denver Airport kiosk. It poured an opaque dark with tan head that isn't leaving much lace. The scent had hints of vanilla and chocolate. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Overall it is a solid sessionable stout.

Perfectly opaque with small, durable deep brown like burnt butter.

Taste is dark malts up front followed by perique tobacco with burnt fruits such as plums and flatlake cherries. Lightly carbonated - the robust malt flavors coupled with hop oils make it seem fairly robust.

Pretty good but not the best.

Pours a very dark brown with a khaki head, nearly opaque black in the glass. Nose and taste are of oats, roasted malts, some chocolate, and earthy forest floor flavors. Denver knows how to make em!

I find this to be a dry oatmeal stout which is nearly a foreign stout or Irish stout in flavor. There are no flaws in flavor, feel, or aroma. The aroma and flavor incorporate elements of roast, darkly roasted barley, and a hint of coffee char. Overall this is a good beer, but it didn't leave me highly impressed. I would never turn one down, but among the hundreds of choices available today, I wouldn't seek it out.
