Notes: This tropical hops bomb is perfect to compliment a classic Norwegian summer day, and with 4.7% ABV it is not wrong to sit under a sky full of clouds and some sun, to enjoy more of it.

Pours a hazy, deep golden, peach, coloration with a medium, foamy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and sweet and juicy tropical of mango, papaya and pineapple, with a hint of citrus fruit as well. Taste is a great balance of light, biscuity malt and sweet and juicy tropical hops: mango, papaya, pineapple, with some lighter, slightly zesty citrus notes: grapefruit, tangerine as well, with just a hint of slightly grassy and herbal notes. Finishes with a light bitterness and some tropical notes lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a ligh/medium body and medium carbonation.

Quite a nice NE style Pale Ale that is perhaps a little lacking in the body/mouthfeel department, which should be expected at the ABV though. At the same it does have some very nice, juicy and vibrant tropical notes for the low ABV. Overall a great, refreshing and easy drinking NE Pale Ale for hot summer days.

Pours a hazy yellow with soapy, off white head.

Smell is citrusy and hoppy, with notes of grass and peaches, quite crisp.

Taste is clean and citrusy with lots of hops, and some peach and pine. Some grassiness on the bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.

Overall, a very nice APA, crisp and hoppy, and easy to drink.

A 500ml can with a BB of Feb 2018. Acquired recently from a webshop. Described on the label as a double dry-hopped American pale ale; ingredients include oats. Not sure if this is supposed to resemble a NEIPA....

A: Poured into a tulip. Can-conditioned. A very hazy golden colour with plentiful fine suspended sediment and good carbonation. Produces a smallish head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or so before reducing to a very patchy surface layer.

S: Aroma of amazingly fruity hops with hints of mango, passionfruit, tropical fruit, grapefruit, citrus, peel, mild stone fruit, white grape, grass, earthy yeast and pale malt. A hop tsunami - superb.

T: Tastes of incredible aromatic hops with notes of passionfruit, mango, tropical fruit, grapefruit, citrus, peel, white grape, stone fruit, grass/hay, earthy yeast, light malt and subtle stewed hops. Very dry, followed by a robust hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and decent body. A tad insubstantial for the strength. Mildly astringent; hop oils tickle the palate. Aftertaste of fruity aromatic hops, tropical fruit, citrus, grassy bitterness, earthy yeast and pale malt.

O: Fantastic - hop flavours so intense that your senses are overwhelmed. Looks alright; shame about the head retention. The aroma and flavour are incredible - stuffed with fruity notes and underpinned by yeast and subtle malt. Decent body that is perhaps a little thin. All in all, a stunner of an APA. A hop-head's dream; don't pass this up if you come across it.

Poured to an Ora et Labora taster.

A: Body is yellow and crisp, having some haziness but not completely opaque. The head is white and pours a one finger thick but it's retention is not exceptional as it exists just to the sides of the glass.
S: The aroma is very strong on pineapple and resin, having a prominent Mosaic profile.
T: Flavour starts off with grapefruit and blood orange, moving on to an interesting piney touch. The end of the sip is just plain bitter with no big flavour.
M: Body is medium. Carbonation is medium. Alcohol is unnoticeable and bitterness is mild.
O: Interesting APA but nothing exquisite.

From Zombier. In Teku glass. Playing Broken Age. Light bodied yet not watery. Lots of fruits here, as juicy as a neipa but with low abv. Bitterness at first seems low but increases much with time

Got this one from the Duvel guy in Utrecht.

From a 500ml can into a pint glass

APPEARNCE: Pours 1+ finger, looser, foamy and crackly white head with decent retention. Cloudy, opaque amber yellow with no carbonation evident. Head slowly crackles down to a foamy wisp and clings to the glass. Splotchy wisp remains leaving touches of calling lace down the glass. Good color and texture but lousy head for the style.

SMELL: Really hop forward with mango, pineapple, passion fruit and plenty of tropical aromas on the nose. Bold and plenty forthcoming.

TASTE: More tropical fruit in the flavor with plenty of pineapple and mango in there initially. A medium but lingering finish of more fruity flavors, mango, passion fruit, pineapple, mandarin, as well as a touch of melon sweetness and honeydew. A light touch of caramel in there as well. Some light bitterness as well but this is very fruity and hop forward.

PALATE: Lighter body with medium carbonation. A little airy on the palate, goes down fine and finishes somewhat dry. A touch of bitterness lingers.

OVERALL: This is really nice. Very low ABV but lots going on, making it very interesting and enjoyable. The aroma and flavor are definitely better than the engineering of this beer, as the head is kind of lousy and the feel is a little lighter and airy than I’d hoped for. Still, this is quality and is probably the best Lervig beer I’ve had to date. Pick up a can if you see it. Cheers!

Loose off white web over cloudy dirty blonde. 3.5
Fresh squeezed orangeade with earthy yeast underneath. 4
Slight wheat, big zesty lemon peel, then some sticky hop leaf, grapefruit pith, and grass. 3.75
Light, round, oily. 4

July 17th canning - 8 weeks old. Not a looker, bright nose, and so it goes. There are hops, especially by APA not IPA standards. But for something that by look, ingredients, and brewer reputation should be a New England juice bomb, it’s not all that juicy. You almost feel the resin of the hops more than you taste them. And it definitely doesn’t earn the smack-talking on the label.

Had better, both from this brewery and from >5% Vermont pales. 3.75
