poured from a 12oz can into a tulip. date on bottom of can is 031915, which i take to be a canning date. so a tad over a year old.

pours a slightly syrupy hazy yellow with a small head. despite the smallness of the head, it does leave some interesting lacing.

not getting much on the nose, possibly due to age. kind of a sweet mustiness, but not unpleasant.

taste is quite sweet, faint hint of banana, but little in the way of clove. feel is a solid medium, with a weak finish.

overall, an not unpleasant beer. of note is the 9.2abv which kinda sneaks up on you. it's not front and center at all.

Pours a clear golden, fluffy white head and noisy carbonation

Smell is wet grass. A certain old muggy dampness. Sweetness of the malts which translate to bubblegum and cloves. Getting some white grapes and bananas.

Very sweet and doughy upfront. Nice bananas and bubblegum come through. Not much hop or bitterness presence detectable. Maybe some very light citrus.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, a little silky with a subtle burn going down.

Taste is rather one dimensional, doesn't really keep up with the awesome aroma. Not bad.

Pure gold color and clear. Very low bitterness from hops or yeast. All about the sweet malt spiciness. Some hop flavor too. Nice add without the bitterness. If I golfed this is the beer I'd bring. Great NC beer and there are a lot these days!

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a slightly murky gold color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is mostly malt, bread and some spices (coriander). The taste is an excellent malt rush. The ABV is fairly well hidden.

2013 vintage, so score set to current average.

Aroma is dominated by green apple and pear, with a soft candi sugar sweetness and clove and floral notes.

Flavor is less intense initially, with fairly sweet caramel malt dominating, but muted green apple tartness and pear come through, accompanied by banana. Clove and white pepper linger in the aftertaste. A bit heavy, perhaps due to age, but tasty.
