Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
A: Crystal clear golden amber. Two fingers of cream hued head. Sticky lace and solid retention.
S: Spiced caramel malt, earthy hops and even a hint of coffee. Very nice aroma for a marzen.
T: The flavors are a bit thin. Light spices and pale malt. Slightly metallic finish.
M: Medium to light body. Light bubbly carbonation.
D: Overall the nose was solid the flavors were average. A decent marzen.

Served in a liter stein at a beer garden. Great orange copper color with white foam, just like an Oktoberfest style beer should look. Smells of malt with a strong note of hops. This is the first place it diverges from an standard Oktoberfest. The hops continue through, stronger than you'd expect. Somewhat supported by the malty backbone but bitter through the finish. More in line with a pale ale. It has the refreshing crisp feel of a lager and is easy to drink. Overall, its a hoppy lager, it verges on being an IPL, not a straight attempt to copy an Oktoberfest.
