9/17/18 (Milwaukee): Day trip to Milwaukee lead me to this nice small brewery in the heart of downtown. Not very busy on a Monday afternoon, a few people eating meals or having a beer after work. Nice long wood bar, the offerings were varied, beers and food (wings and fries) OK. Service good, selection somewhat limited. Overall OK brewer.

They make good beers, good recipes. But consistency is key. Sometimes the beer tastes wildly different. I understand with beer like OGii having many seasonal adjuncts like ginger, citrus peal, tea, and whatever else. But sometimes the beers are attenuated properly sometimes they're not. Sometimes you drink one and it coats your mouth with that "beer mouth" you feel like you need a water, and I don't like that. Sometimes the beer is proper and it doesn't leave a sugary film. Most of the beer is pretty above average ABV this helps their attenuation issues since it can be payed off on being big and malty. There's a difference but most seem to conveniently use full bodied as an excuse for high final gravities. All in all it's a good brewery. But not the kind I would feel confident to buy a 20+ dollar large format beer from.

After touring the Harley-Davidson Museum, Went a few blocks away to The Milwaukee Brewing Company for a tour. They offer tours Friday and Saturday. For ten dollars you get a pint glass to sample Milwaukee Brewing Co. Beer. The tour of the Brewery was about 45 minuets because it's a small brewery. but after that you can sample more beer.

I went to Milwaukee Brewing Company on Aug 11, 2012. The tour cost seven dollars and you get a pint glass, a chip which is good for one free Milwaukee Brewing beer at a participating bar or restaurant, pretty much unlimited samples for however long you stay inside.
The tour goes like this, first while waiting for the tour to start, you drink at the entrance bar which have four different types of beer. Refills are about half a pint. When the tour starts you head to one station and watch a intro video. The next stop is the second bar which had five different beers to try. Then off to the kettles, back to the bar, off to the fermenting , back to the bar then bottling and back to the bar where the tour ends.
So pretty good value and fun time. Only problem was they ran out of OGii when I was going to buy a growler of it. Hence the 4.5 in service. Best beers were OGii and Weekend.
