Joes is a Vt State liquer store with wine and beer sections. The beer section takes up the cooler wall and two full aisles out of eight to ten total aisles. The selection is good for the area. The majority of the doors are filled with craft beer oferings, with two or three doors devoted to the usual BMC products. Two doors house chilled bombers. Joe's beer focus is local with most of the Vt and NH brews represented. When VT popped the cap so to speak, the selection was much improved. Offerings such as Pranqster, Gouden Draak, Old Rasputin, heavy wieghts from Flying Dog, Dogfish Head, Stone, Brewery Ommegang, Harpoon and Skull Splitter started to show up almost overnight.

Joe does try to be knowledgable in all the beers he carries, however ocassionally he may not have tried the one that just came in. He is always helpful and talkative, asking me what I had thought about my latest purchases and offering sugestions on new stuff to try. He does get in some rarities as well from time to time, but you must grab that stuff when you see it or ask him to hold it for a couple days or you will miss it. Joe's also offers a small selection of glass ware. The store is located off the Springfield exit from 91 and is about 5 miles from the exit.

Overall Joe's is worth a look if traveling through or if you live around this area.

Pretty clean and decently lit place. Service was good. Selection was the norm here just like in any other part of the state. Fairly easy to take kids in. Nothing to go bonkers about but when one is in the area, it's worthy to check out.

I walked in after a long day and was surprised to see they had a very good selection. You can tell they were hit hard from the weekend as I was in there on a Monday afternoon, but I was still able to find plenty of goodies. They also sell growlers. I think they had 3 taps to include a Firestone Walker. The prices were very reasonable and they also have liquor if you are looking for that. Worth the trip if you live there or are driving through.

This is an official Vermont State Liquor Store so along with the good beer selection you can also pick up wines and other hard liquors. There's a wall long cooler with many regional crafts with an emphasis on Vermont. There are also growlers for sale but the beers that go in them are different all the time. When I was there I had my pick from a McNeill's brew, Brooklyn Chocolate Stout, and Hoptical Illusion. I saw a generous collection of crafts from Clown Shoes, Berkshire, Rock Art, and McNeill's. There were some interesting imports there but I think they prefer to sell the regional crafts instead of imports. Some glassware. It is located next to a Natural Foods market and there was no food beyond snacks available. But you could not break up the six packs. Still, not a bad place.
