750ml cork and capped bottle of the 2012 bottling. Served in a stemless wine glass.

Pours a dark ruby red body, two finger white head, good retention and no lacing. Smells of tart cherry, cobweb, moderate funk, oak, a bit of wheat, moderate acetic acidity. A bit of red vinous character as well. Flavour is oak, funk, moderate tart cherry that isn't jam-like but rather more of the essence rather than juice. Moderately acidic, good complexity, nice drying finish with a medium body and good carbonation. It has plenty of character and doesn't punish you with unrelenting sourness yet has much less sweetness than the artificially sweetened version. This isn't as competitive with other well-renowned Krieks like Cuvee Rene compares versus well-renowned Gueuzes, but this is certainly a nice Kriek to open in a pinch.

Large dark green bottle with a beautiful classic label of red. Poured quite nice with a dark cherry red hue and a riviera pink head. Hints of their traditional kriek with lush cherry tartness but with some added funk. Drinks a bit bigger than the regular Kriek, but surprisingly well balanced for a sour ale. A nice after dinner ale with enough funk paired with the usual cherry tart. Superb kriek!

This is a very good beer that most would be think twice about. Tell you what, keep thinking, I'll buy it all. Way more approachable than most cherry sours, no medicinal notes at all. More like a cherry on top of a tart cheesecake.

Was never distributed to my area, luckily someone was cool enough to send me a couple bottles.

Pours blood red, smells like tart cranberries, taste is much the same, mouth feel is thick for the style. Good, not great, looking forward to seeing how this develops with a year+.

A: Pours a very deep red color with a pink fizzy head on top that reduces rather quickly and leaves behind no lacing whatsoever.

S: A lot more barnyard/musty aroma than I expected. This is mixed with a good amount of sweet cherries along with a faint tartness.

T: Very similar to the aroma, plenty of barnyard flavor along with cherries, oak, and a slight acetic/vinegar flavor.

M: Light to medium bodied with high carbonation, bubbles tend to pop on the tongue.

O: The best beer I have had from Lindemans, a bit mustier than most Krieks I have had, but it is easy drinking with a good flavor profile.

Dark, burgundy color with pink head. Aroma has intense, dark cherries and some farmhouse funk. Taste starts with intense sourness and good fruit character. Body is medium and is really well carbonated. Overall this is a very legit fruit lambic which is also very accessible.

Excellent value option here, so great to have it in the states now. I admit that kriek is not my favorite type of lambic, so perhaps I'm not as discerning between breweries/blenders, but I think this compares favorably indeed with 3F and Cantillon, lacking some of that musty funk you find in the best versions but showcasing the cherries awfully well and giving just enough intrigue of funk/oak/must to tie it all together. Deep, dark cherry red on the pour, a fizz of pinkish foam that dissipates quickly. Cherries for sure on the nose, mixing with the oak and funk to give it some depth, an almost floral tone, and hints of other berries. Tart acidic notes in there too, light but present. Palate is similar, no shortage of tartness, cherries up front as well. Again, overall, this is very well done rendition of kriek lambic. You might not love it more than your favorite iterations, but I highly doubt you'd be sad to find this in your fridge. And to get this for $10-$12 a 750ml? No brainer.

Look: Very dark reddish brown with a thin, yet lasting pink head that leaves sheets of lacing.

Smell: Wild cherry flesh, tart raspberries, sour milk, faint earth and mildew, perhaps some crab apple.

Taste: Wild sour cherries, raspberry yogurt, crab apples, curdled milk, lemon peel, lemon Warhead candy, mildew, Provolone cheese, beet sugar.

Feel: Medium to medium light body, lively, snappy carbonation, lingering astringency/dryness and a lingering sourness that keeps you puckering.

Overall: This is excellent! The smell alone made my mouth water and I can't set the glass down. I love it!

Big thanks goes out to beeruser for sharing this one with myself and funkydelic at one of our weekly tastings. 2009 Vintage, Bottle in 2010. Served from bottle into a Mikkeller stemmed tulip. Poured blood red with a two finger pink head that subsided to a very minimal amount quickly. There was no lacing evident throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, tart, cherry, raspberry, and funk. The flavor was of sweet malt, sour, tart, cherry, raspberry, and funk. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was an excellent brew. One of the best offerings from Lindemans I have had thus far. The berry aspect of this one mixed REALLY well with the sour/tart/funk notes in this one making it enjoyable. With the low ABV it was very easy drinking, but I could see it getting old after a little while however. I would love to have this one again however to test the previous theory though.
