Pours with a billowing effervescent pink-tinged head, settling out on top of hazy, murky dark pink/red liquid. Nose is tart cherries mixed with a soda pop sugary sweetness. Taste is a refreshing tartness followed by sugary notes and a cherry tartness emphasized by by the light-bodiedness from the wheat malt. Finishes up tart and very refreshing, my only complaint here is that it's just a tad too heavy-handed with the sweetness. Still, it would be too easy to drink mass quantities of this's just too damn expensive to make that a reality! I love this beer...I must be the minority because I see it really doesn't get high marks from many here.

Pours truly ruby red, with a big old fluff of pink foam.
Smell is sweet tarts, cherries and a light funk.
Tastes immediately sour. This mellows into a sweet cherry pie flavor. The end is total sour sock flavor. Very complex.
smooth and satisfactory. This is a nice introduction into the funky world of lambics. I enjoy this beer immensely

Small bottle, poured into a wine glass.

Pour - Awesome, beautiful red with a white/pink head that has an awesome light cherry aroma.

Smell - Cherries and sugar, with a very mild earthy aroma that peaks through at the end.

Taste - Really one of the finer lambics I've had, very easy to drink, also sweet with a nice cherry flavor - almost too easy to drink. It has a syrup-like feel, very nice though, with cherry flavors clearly dominating the palate.

Overall - I would suggest this to be the first beer to try in the Lambic style - it is moderately priced (in comparison) and it will quickly let you know how you feel about the overall style.

Worth a shot to at least pick up a bottle.

*This is my first review so I will attempt to be as helpful as possible.
The Pour:
I used the glassware produced by the brewery for this beer. The lambic pours with a thin pink head and a fair amount of carbonation at you fill the glass. It pours a deep red, almost bergundy color.

The smell is, as one would assume, of cherries and and one can even draw upon the sweetness of the beer just from its unique scent.

Personally, I feel this kriek is the best of any. The mouthfeel is light and the taste is quite sweet (almost too sweet at times). I have had friends compare this lambic to juicy juice. I would have to say that I do not entirely disagree. However, is it such a bad thing? The cherry flavor becomes more powerful as the beer rolls over your tongue and hits the back of your throat. It is also somewhat sour at first... let it sit on the back of your tongue for a moment and you will find the perfect harmony between all of the beers qualities. The carbonation is definitely noticeable, but well matched for this particular beer.

This is the only aspect of the beer that I do not rate incredibly high due to its sweetness. I find that I often have a hard time finishing the 750ml bottle myself so I often split it with a friend and find that I am still quite satisfied. I definitely don't advise drinking more than a full bottle of this as a stomach ache from all the sugar is assured at anything past that.

Overall, this is one of my favorite beers and love to endulge on special ocassions. Great lambic and overall teriffic beer.

Received this 12 oz beer at iTap House (Chesterfield) and poured it in a Flute Glass.

Beer Appearance: Bright red, 2 fingers length of head

Smell: Twizzlers or a dark cheery type of scent

Taste: Very distinct taste of cherries without the sour finish. Awesome!

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, sweet, and not really a sour finish.

Drinkability: Unbelievable! Very sweet but could drink 4-5 without thinking twice. If anything, Lindemans made their Kriek taste nothing like a creek...

37.5cl bottle. 08 Sep 2016. I was trying to think of how I would describe the colour and the obvious answer is that it's cherry coloured. Tall, frothy pink head which lasted well and left some lovely Brussels lace. Powerful aroma of black and sour cherries. Reminds me of a cherry starburst. Medium sweetness and a pleasant tartness. Medium-full bodied, smooth, spritzy, sticky and a lip-smacking tart finish. Delicious. 9.

12 oz. bottle

Pours ruby red with a dense creamy frothy pink foam head. Smells like cherry juice, oak, funky hay, tart cherries, green apple, with earthy herbal hops. Tastes like sweet and tart cherries, green apple, oak, funky hay, with earthy herbal hops. Feels medium bodied, creamy and slick with moderate low carbonation. Overall a really nice kriek.

A moderate pour got me a little over half a finger of head that can best be described only as strawberries and cream colored. The body is a deep, rich maroon color. The head dissipated down to a few bubbles up top and a ring around the glass, but a thin sheet of lacing struggles to cling to the sides.

Smells of sweet black cherries and medicine mostly.

The flavor is that of deep rich black cherry, with a hint of medicine, making it like a pleasant cough drop flavor. There is a slightly bitter tang to the end as it warms up. Also appearing as it warms is a slight grain flavor in the middle. Overall, very sweet.

Light bodied and highly carbonated, this beer is most pleasing to the palate, although it isn't something I would drink a lot of, nor often. The carbonation is almost that of pop, but this in no way detracts from the drink.

Poured from a 750ml green bottle.

Pours a medium pinkish red cherry color with a light pink head that leaves very nice lacing on the glass.

Aroma is full of tart and sweet cherry and a slight bit of malt.

Taste is, not surprisingly, dominated by cherries, both tart and sweet which seems to balance nicely. Not overly sweet and not overly tart. There is some nice malt character on the finish which gives way to cherries. Overall, it is very cherry. There is a very slight metallic taste in the background which fades very quickly.

Mouthfeel is good and drinkability is high. A new favorite for me from the Lindemans product offering.

750ml bottle, as always into tulip glasses

Pours cloudy red with a bit of orange, in this light. nice lingering pink head that i would have like to have seen a bit more substantial.

Smells or sour cherries, sugar syrup, hint of spices, lactic sourness. Funky wild yeasts. There is a definite brand identity to the Lindemans products I've sampled. Makes sense I guess. Big fruit character with the sour funky lambic in the background. Works fantastically.

Tastes way sweeter than I was expecting, but not overwhelming. The sourness and bitterness balance it out nicely. Sour cherries abound. Almost lost in the mix, funky yeasts. Delicious.

Great carbonation and sweet/sour balance.

Guzzle away, fairly low ABV. I'd close this 750ml bottle down and go for another if i had one.

Poured into a New Belgium globe glass. The beer is a deep yet light ruby red, almost a cream-colored redness about it. The pinkish head settles to a layer of random bubbles and film. The beer smells if sweet cherries with a hint of alcohol. The beer tastes deliciously sweet with a tangy cherry tart. The mouthfeel is relatively lively and light bodied.

Overall, this is simply delicious and easy to drink. Low ABV, excellent taste and smell. A great dessert beer, and one of my favourite Lindemans offerings.

Poured from a 12 oz. corked bottle into DFH Signature Glass.

A- Ruby red in color with lots of bubbles and a finger of pink head. Nice retention and lacing.

S- Wow, smells like a cherry Life-Saver. Big juicy cherries with a little sour funk to balance it. More of a fruit beer than lambic smell.

T- Again, not a lambic taste, but I don't care. I think this is delicious. Big juicy cherry flavor throughout with a tart kick in the beginning and a sweet finish.

M/D- Creamier and more carbonated than the average kriek. Very drinkable, though the possible cloying nature of the sweetness keeps it from a 5.

This isn't traditional lambic and I don't care. I'm rating this as a beer, and as a fruit beer, its outstanding. I think it stands toe to toe with Wisconsin Belgian Red. The beer that got me into craft, and I still enjoy it, even if its name is a bit misleading.

Pours a clear beautiful dark ruby. Outstanding head volume, lacing and retention.

Rich nose of sweet cherry, slanted to black cherries. Underneath is a lively tart note.

Almost medium bodied with a smooth texture that has creamy aspects. Above normal carbonation with effervescence from the middle on. The carbonation is tight, prickly and lively...a masterpiece.

The flavor profile is World Class. It is intense in cherry flavor, somewhat complex and perfectly balanced with both sweet, sour and tart elements. It begins with a burst of sweet cherry over a rich malt background that is biscuit in nature. In the middle, a rich tartness effervesces. As the sweetness fades, a subtle sour undertone emerges. The finish is a slow fade of tart black cherry over a subtle sweetness and just a hint of sourness.

This is the first lambic I've had, and I'm impressed. In the words of the Continental, "Wow, wowwy wowwy wow!" This stuff is absolutely fantastic. Pours a cherry red color with a bubbly pink head that dissipates quickly. Has a somewhat musty cherry nose to it. The taste is out of this world. Very tart, great cherry flavor. The alcohol is almost indetectable, which makes it very easy drinking. Unfortunately, it goes for about 6.00 for a 12 oz bottle here in Boston.

This is an amazingly drinkable beverage, a fruit sodie pop. The appearance is a wonderful deep bright red. And it goes down oh so sweetly, and all the while oh so tartly.

While I find it amazingly drinkable, it lacks the "beerness" of beer. It's not a let's hang out with boys sort of beer, but that's OK it has it's place. It's a good night cap beer or a let's sit in a pricy Belgian style bar beer.

Pours a hazy, purple-tinged crimson robe topped by a frothy pink head that holds quite well and leaves some very nice lace. Absolutely interesting to look at! The aroma is candyish with super sweet cherry backed by mild tart notes. The body is light with a very fine and lightly effervescent carbonation that caresses the tongue. The flavor is astoundingly rich with tart and sweet cherry, but also reveals a bit of lambic character in the finish along with some lingering sweetness. Still, it dries out with a touch of sour astringency. Although I personally find this to be overly sweet and lacking in lambic flavor and aroma, I still feel it warrants high marks based on it's massive character. And it does make an excellent dessert beer!

It may not be for everyone but I think this is a beautiful product. Poured a gorgeous 2" violet pink head. Smells like a cherry throat lozenge. Clear dark raspberry-like color held up to the light. Flavor is far less sweet than the smell and look might hint, in fact this is gobs of sour black cherry. It's an instant classic and one of only a handful of lambics I've liked so far.

Think dark red pour. Looks kind of like a carbonated red wine. Aroma is all cherry. Lots of tart cherry flavor. Slightly musty aroma and taste. Very good.

**revised after additional tastings:

Pours off red color with off reddish white thin head (pink). Nice bubbles. Lace retains well.

On the nose this beer seduces with a gourmet dessert-like sour cherry aroma. Cherry-vanilla icing on a German blackforest cake perhaps. Hard to beat.

On the palate is a mouth puckering rich sour dark cherry bomb that sets you back in your seat. Wow this is a flavorful beer.

Finish is tangy sweet, cherry of course, and very appetizing for the next sip.

After I unwrapped the foil and pulled out the cork, the beer poured into my sniffer sported a clear ruby red color with hints of purple. The head was light pink and there was heavy lacing. The aroma was heavy with sour cherry and hints of wet grains and alcohol. There was also a small presence of spices. The flavor was heavy with sweet cherry flavor and a tart undertone. Without the subtle graininess showing through, you would think this was a champagne of some type. It had good carbonation with a smooth, barley finish. There was very minimal hop presence. I paired this beer with Babybel cheese and it really accented the sourness of this beer. All together, this really was an amazing beer. Those belgains really know what they are doing.

Poured into a flute.

4.5 A: Deep mahogany in color. Thick frothy pink head with lot of lacing. Very nice.

4.5 S: Smells just like grenadine flavored cough drops. Very nice.

4.0 T: Tart and simultaneously sweet, just like fresh cherries.

5.0 M: Lighter body with champagne-like carbonation. Very enticing.

5.0 D: It's like alcoholic cherry flavored juice, what's not to love.

Ruby red...pinkish head. Pinkish head says "bye bye" pretty quickly, even though he was welcome to stay longer. Liquid cherry pie anyone? Sweet sweet sweet, sour sour sour. Sweet first, then sour. 50/50 for sure. Not all cherries though...berries berries too. Smooth mouthfeel, very highly drinkable. I'm thoroughly impressed. This is the first lambic I have tried. I can't wait to try others. This stuff is beer? Fruit juice beer! Yumm!

Lindemans Kriek Lambic
750 ML green bottle
Served in a Duck Walk vineyards champagne flute

Pours a vibrant light red with a hazy and cloudy body. Pink colored head that has great mass and leaves beautiful trails of lace. Lambics usually look so incredble in a flute glassware.

The nose is mighty ripe. Screaming of sweet cherries and mixed tropical fruit blasts. The unique Belgian yeast funk lingers in the background.

Sipping this beer reveals a complex lambic that balances a nice contrast of sweet and sour. True, strong, sweet cherry flavors dominate the palate. A mouth-puckering sour tartness also makes its presence known on the finish. Hints of freshly picked and pitted cherries with the sugary sweetness of cherry cough syrup. A funky and spicy Belgian yeast funk flares over the intense fruitiness.

A pure delight. To be enjoyed with breakfast, a special holiday, after dessert treat or just because it's so enjoyable.

Pours a rich dark red with a three finger pink head and copious lacings. Aroma is very potent black cherry. Taste is like the most delicious black cherry soda you can imagine. The flavor is very full and sweet and it is hard to believe this has any alcohol at all. Easy drinker with no faults but doesn't taste much like beer at all. Excellent desert choice IMO and not one to swill. Sip it with a meal and enjoy those immense flavors.

11.2 oz bottle. One question, can someone explain the cork and bottle cap? It seems a little bit like overkill. Anway.

This lambic poured a small purple/whitish head with a clear ruby, burgundy body.

The nose is PURE fresh black cherries. It bassically smelled like you just opened a can of cherries. Or like a black cherry concentrate. It's quite an amazing and inviting smell.

The taste was yet again, pure black cherries. Tart and slightly sweet. A very fine champagne like carbonation. Rather thick but very easy drinking. It finishes with a very tart dry finish.

Overall it's a great lambic. It's almost a little tough to drink because it's so tart. After one bottle I felt like my teeth were going to rot from the acidity. But still.. A wonderful examble of the style.
