750ml bottle layed down from 1994.

A crumbled cork led to bits and pieces in the glass, otherwise hazy gold with a tall, white dense head. Plenty of retention and lacing. Lemon-spritzed apples, cut grass, and a trace of biscuit crumbs in the nose. Light bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Tonic-like and tart on the palate. Minerallic and tannic with lemon pith and apple skins. Finishes dry and fairly sharp.

A very nice Gueuze. The sourness is moderate compared to some, and an aged bottle is even more mellow.

Pours a bright orange with a thin but very bubbly head.

You can smell it from the pour. Lots of yeast. Rotten fruit almost. Strawberry, grapes. No malt on the nose whatsoever. All the aroma seems to be from the yeast/bacteria. Really really nice.

Taste. Nice and sour. A tiny bit of grain if you really go looking for it. Fruity, almost like sour fruit candy. A really nice balance of sweet and sour. It finishes surprising dry compared to how sweet it is on the tongue. Continues to dry the tongue for a few minutes. Extremely nice. Maybe the best lambic I've ever had.

A great traditional gueuze that I figure is less popular because it's super easy to find. This is the genuine article... Price point, ubiquity, and mild funk/tartness make this an approachable, accessible sour beer.

Poured from a capped and corked 355 ml bottle into a tulip.

L - Slightly hazy, deep golden orange colour. One or two fingers of large-bubbled foam which dissipated within seconds. Lots of carbonation - tiny bubbles. No head retention, no lacing.
S - orange, apple, lemon.
T - sour, tart, orange peel, apple, lemon, pear. Dry finish.
F - smooth, light body, good carbonation, dry, sour, tart finish.
O - excellent beer. Will definitely try again.

355 ml corked bottle served at cellar temperature into a tulip. Purchased from the LCBO for $4.95 CDN.

Appearance - Pours a hazy golden hued beer, lots of tiny bubbles and a fine two fingers of fluffy white head. Modest retention and not much in the way of lacing. Some film left on top of the beer.

Smell - Dank, earthy and yet fruity with cherry and cranberry being the lead roles. Also some apple and grape with a heavy vinous nose. A certain musty aroma as well, leads one to imagine a bottle being discovered in an abandoned old farmhouse. There's a bit of a funky off smell initially, that dissipates by the time you get to the second half of the glass.

Taste - Complex and fairly sour, but not overwhelmingly so. The fruitiness of apples, grapes, cranberries and maybe pear combine for a delightful tipple, although the earthiness just doesn't come across as nice as some of the other sours I've experienced.

Mouthfeel - Smooth, light body with sprtitzy carbonation. Dry mouth puckering finish.

Overall - A top notch sour, as others have commented, it's complex but not so far off the beater path that it remains a viable option for a newbie to sours. Lindemans has another fine lambic offering on its hands here, could see myself picking up another bottle or two for cellaring purposes in the near future.

I poured this beer into a wine glass. It came out a dark, golden orange. The head was rather large, but it quickly dissipated. The brew left crystalline bubbles to line the glass as I drank. At the bottom of the pour was a very small amount of dusty fragments. It smelt fruity, perhaps of pears. It smelt like a wine. The feel was medium to full bodied. It was very carbonated. It left a dry and aggressive aftertaste lingering in the mouth. It has a strongly tart and sour taste. It was somewhat of lemons and yeast. Overall, it was a superbly tart, aggressive, and fruity beer. This beer should only be drank by those ready to handle the tartness.
