I really liked this beer, shared by Mike at a recent small tasting. Beer is yellow and hazy with a soft white head of small bubbles, good carbonation, nice lacing, head retention OK.

Aroma is bready and sweet with some nice floral yeast notes, good esters.

Beer is light and airy on the palate with a lead off mild pilsen sweetness and a mildly dry finish. The overall beer is well and connected throughout but the aroma is slightly better than the flavor, the yeast esters could play a bigger role in the overall beer. Still a very enjoyable beer that I would have again.

Thanks to yourefragile for sharing this growler after the Zwanze 2011 event. Served in a Val-Dieu chalice.

Pours a nice golden color with a good white head that fades pretty quickly without much lacing. The nose brings forward some nice barrel character with oak and wine. A bit of earth there as well. The flavor has the same components, but there's also something slightly medicinal about it, which factors into the feel as well. Fairly tannic and too oaky. Overall, nice, but not to the level of Vautour and some of McKenzie's other beers.

Growler shared by yourefragile. Thanks Michael.

The beer is yellow and slightly hazy, with a small white head that leaves some good lacing on the glass. The aroma offers some funk, malt, yeast, wood, wine, citrus fruits. The flavor is not as enjoyable as the aroma, but is still pretty tasty. The body is thicker than I would have expected, and the aftertaste offers lingering notes of citrus and wine. Overall, a decent beer. I would have it again.

New batch on tap at Malvern. Served in a standard pint.

Pours a chilled amber copper with a stark white thin head. Little retention and thin streaks of lace.

Aroma is tart, dry, fruity and wine heavy. Strong saison spice and yeast blend with the barrel and mild grassy hops.

Medium thick body, strong fine carbonation and a smooth dry texture. Barrel is toned down in the flavor from the blending and is a little more robust and dry than typical Vautour. I'm assuming this batch is dry hopped as well since the finish is resiny, grassy and softly bitter. Wine and oak are present throughout.

Extremely refreshing, crisp and balanced blend of fruit, spice, barrel and yeast. Very happy to see this return and recommend trying this.
