Very dark brown, almost black in color with a creamy tan head. Sticky rings of lace are left behind. Aroma is of bittersweet chocolate, coffee, and nutty-roasted malt. Starts mellow and creamy with hints of chocolate. Roasted malt flavors come through along with coffee. Hops round out the flavor and add ome earthiness. Medium-full in body with light carbonation. Creamy and hightly drinkable. A delicious porter.

First had: on tap at the Garden State Craft Brewers Guild 15th Annual Beer Festival, USS New Jersey, Camden, NJ

Poured a pleasant dark brown, topped with a nice, dense, tan head. Roasted coffee and cocoa in the aroma. Big roasty coffee taste up front, bitter at first, but semisweet chocolate quickly takes the edge off. Dark, malty base. Finishes nice and dry with another slight bitter bite. Heavy-medium body, rich, and very drinkable.

Dark with slight amber highlights. Not much of a head but really leaves nice lacing on the glass.

Dark malts, toffee, coffee. Smells nice.

The taste is really good. Big time roastiness! Toffee, nut, coffee and chocalate. Sweet and then ends a little bitter. Really good.

Mouth feel is really nice. Medium body. Not much carbonation but it's there.

Drink ability is good. I would have another if they didn't have other beers. I might get a growler of it.

As you can probalby tell, I got this on-tap at Pizzeria Uno. This is one of their regular offerings, so you don't have to worry if it's going to be there or not. They served it to me in a standard pint glass.

At first I thought this beer poured a soild ink black, but upon a closer inspection, it was actually a deep dark mahogany brown with a ruby red bottom. The ruby red was alomst like a small beacon of light. It was pretty cool to see! The head of foam was alight beige color and was about 3/4 of an inch in height. It had excellent retention that left behind a small beige film and streak after streak of sticky tan lace around the glass. Beautiful!

The aroma was slightly sour in the beginning, but when it was swirled around, the sour aroma disappeared leaving behind a dark roasted aroma of milk chocolate, dark roasted malts, roasted coffee beans, and a hint of sweet caramel at the finish.

The taste didn't start off sour, instead it went directly into the dark roasted flavors. This roasted taste featured dark roasted malts, roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, a small touch of sweet caramel, and ended with slightly bitter roasted hops. I liked how the roasted coffee beans and roasted malts equally shared the taste.

The mouthfeel was medium bodied with a solid roasted aftertaste of roasted malts, roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, and a splash of caramel. The only thing that was missing was the roasted hops and I would have had the taste all over again.

In the end, a nice roasted session Porter. Not too heavy, but still with a ton of dark roasted flavors. I would seriously consider getting this Porter in one of thier Growlers. This is one Pizzeria Uno beer that you must try while you're there.

Growler filled about two hours ago poured into a 20 ounce nonic pint glass.

A - Hard pour yields a dark brown brew with a full two fingers of tan head. When held up to the light, ruby highlights that are nearly orange shine through the sides of the beer.

S - Nice caramel and coffee aromas. Not huge aromas but definitely there.

T - A nice taste of espresso followed by some sweetness. The roasty coffee flavor dominates and is excellent.

M - A but thin for a porter. Would like a fuller feel.

D - A good drinakable porter with a nice bitter coffee flavor.

I was so impressed with this porter that I bought a growler to take home with me. It's not the best porter, but certainly above average. It pours very black with a small head that lingers. The smell is of robust coffee with chocolate hints. It tastes just as it smells. It is very refreshing and though the taste of alcohol is evident it is not overwhelming. The taste is not as rich as other examples, but is certainly solid, and, if anything, adds to its drinkability.

Had a pint of this because I saw someone else order it and it really looked good. I was happy with my selection, I might add.

Nearly black in my large pint glass with a soft head that stayed throughout the session and left behind splashes of lacing. Aromas of dry roasted nuts, nutmeg, alcohol, and roasted malt dominated. The taste was full of roasted malt flavors with subtle spice and hop flavors that sneak into the finish adding complexity and drinkability. Somewhat thick in my mouth with a gentle rolling feel as it glided down my throat.
I will definitely have another pint of this beer, the next time I'm here.

Body takes brown to just about infinity, with only a small window of light brown highlights near the bottom of the glass. Topped by two fingers of dense tan foam, which breaks down into a flowing lace shawl.

Nose just explodes with roasty coffee and chocolate, wonderfully inviting, and a good eye opener too.

Taste kicks off with a big coffee jolt, then a rising chocolate note, then cleans up with a bracing hop snap as taste gives way to a mocha flavored aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is smooth, thick, and heartily chewy, everything I'd want in a porter. Superbly drinkable.

Now available in growlers, so if you're anywhere near the Woodbridge/Edison Route One area, I'd strongly recommend giving this a go.

picked up a growler of this on my birthday after trying a sampler with my ol' buddy Estreet20

it pours a nice dark dark brown \ ruby red color with a 1 in. tan head that dissipates leaving some mild lacing down the side of the glass. the initial aroma is not too potent..some coffee with nice fruit smells...the taste isn't overpowering either just enough...some malt's and grapefruit along with a very tiny bit of bitterness...the taste definatley improves when the beer warms a little bit...a very nice drinkability and mouth feel..very crisp and hearty...much enjoyed

Appearance: Dark burnt sienna with a ruby tint when held to the light. Pillowy, creamy head. Great looking porter.

Smell: Cappuccino, dark fruits. Roasted prunes. Slight smokiness. Very nice!

Taste/Mouthfeel/Drinkability: Coffee right up front, turning to a warming nutty roundness in the center. Finishes with a creamy cocoa bitterness that hangs around. A very delicious porter! Easy to drink.

Slightly reddish-tinted deep brown that left a thin white ring after the head dissolved. Not much smell (light coffee maybe), I did have a nasty cold coming on though. A great nutty coffee bean flavor with a touch of lemony hops and a tiny chcolate aftertaste. Silky smooth and very drinkable, I had a sip of a couple other brews that my friends were trying, they were good too but from what I can see this is their flagship brew. Too bad there were no growlers.

Deep dark brown in color with a 1" head. Decent lacing develops through the drink. The aroma is of roasted malt and coffee. The flavor follows suit as the roasted malt and coffee are most dominant with some bitter chocolate, licorice, and mild bitterness rounding out the taste.

The mouthfeel is lightly crisp at the start and has a dry finish. The coffee and roasted malt tones linger a bit on the tongue after swallowing. Very drinkable, as this is not some weak porter, but a meaty flavored brew.

A very dark brown if not black colored brew sitting below a massive covering of brown foam. The aromas of chocolate, coffee, and cappuccino hit my nose like a little piece of rich dessert from a bistro.

Smooth and creamy. Rich and full. This is what a porter should be. I was very surprised to find such a great brew at Pizzeria Uno, but I will never be surprised by them again. Lots of chocolate and coffee flavors in this one. Very roasty brew. It is simply delicious.

This beer is really good! Pours almost black with a medium beige head. Thin and sticky lacing. The aroma is roasty and nutty. Very full-bodied for a Porter, it almost borders on a Stout which is A-OK in my book. Rich flavors of malt, caramel, coffee and chocolate throughout. The finish is smooth and has a bit of hops in it. One of the better Porters I have tried, and definitely the best beer you can get at Uno's.

I enjoy this one. Rich dark look and rich dark feel. Slight roasted aroma. Medium bodied and very slightly carbonated. A unique porter in that it doesn't weigh you down, you can easily drink a few and not feel that slightest bit bloated. And if you go on a Saturday night you can enjoy this beer as well as all of the other freshbrewed for a $1.60 a pint from 10PM to close. That is not a bargain, it is a blessing.
