Launched and enthusiastically received at the first annual Halifax Seaport Beer Fest in August 2007, this ale has quickly become known as the hoppiest beer in Atlantic Canada! Unfiltered Imperial I.P.A. is a robust, full-bodied and complex brew in the Double IPA style. An intensely fruity aroma combines nicely with a malty caramel backbone, clear hop bitterness and lingering citrusy finish. This beer is for the true hophead!

500ml Bottle poured into a stein. A cloudy, red copper color that had a huge, bubbly head. Great retention and and an almost perfect lacing pattern. Just smellin' a lot of hops and some citrus. The taste is a bit lower because I feel as though it just tastes like a boozy IPA. The bitterness isn't very strong. Like most, the flavor hangs around for a while and seeps into the taste buds. Could I drink this all the time, sure. I may very well.

Hazy Amber with nice head and lacing. Mild citrus nose with some malt. Smooth medium body with very strong pine resin finish. Some alcohol warmth.

650ml bottle.
Lovely amber with a lot of floating particles and a huge billowing, slowly subsiding head. Piney notes dominate on the nose. Resin, generic citrus and slight grassy notes. Pronounced pleasant bitterness. A classic IPA that deserves its place on the Canada Top 100. Would gladly enjoy again.

Picked up a bottle in the NSLC store in Ingonish Nova Scotia. Poured into a pint glass, a hazy orange color. Big slightly off white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma was floral and piney hops. The floral presence was very good. Taste included the same hops but there is fairly equal balancing malt flavor, mostly the dry biscuity type but a little caramel ,malt as well. Mouthfeel is crisp and moderately bitter. The bitterness is nicely balanced by the malty presence. This is a well crafted and tasty beer.

Pours a slightly hazy orange body with plenty of just barely off-white head. The scent is very sweet, with lots of passion fruit and citrus with a little dank note from hops. Not much maltiness on the nose. The taste has an immediate bitterness with some dank tones as well, leading into an alright finish, though the bitterness really comes on strong here.

Cloudy unfiltered honey Amber colour with a thick oily tan head with claws of lacing.
Scents of Pine, herb, sap, resin
Taste follows pine scents but with grapefruit honey and a floral character. Very nice.
