I almost always get this when I go to my local. Pours a light brown with a nice head of foam. Smells slightly sweet and nutty but it isn't cloying. Taste is slightly sweet with just a hint of caramel. Bitter but not too. Feel is smooth and creamy. Goes down well and perfect with the likes of fish & chips. Over all very decent mild brown ale.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
Aroma- Has a strong malt flavor but smelled stale
Appearance- pours an amber brown with a tan head.
Taste- Heavy malt flavor with some caramel but it tastes old
Palate- Medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation.
Overall- a truly average beer, pretty forgettable.

Newcastle Brown Ale - The Caledonian Brewing Company. Poured from the bottle into a glass, this beer's head is 0 fingers thick, with no lacing, and a clear dark brown body.

Smells like roasted, caramelized malts. Not much going on with hops in this beer.

I taste mostly malt with notes a caramel note throughout. Nothing really here in the hop territory.

The mouthfeel here is smooth and clean.

Overall, I'll give Newcastle Brown Ale - The Caledonian Brewing Company a 4.25

Look: Very dark brown, with just enough clarity for light to shine through. Practically no head after a second or two.

Smell: Nutty and strongly malty.

Taste: Bitter, toasty malt. Notes of brown bread. Almost no hops.

Mouthfeel: Thick and almost no carbonation, like a stout.

Overall: Toasty, easily drinkable.

Bottled or canned drank both recently and with the pasteurisation and force carbonation it doesn't make much difference
Everytime this classic ale gets passed from owner to industrial brewing site it diminishes but it still has a place in my heart
